Fully expect Foderingham to be in the starting lineup. He had a good game against Killie, and - barring McGregor getting injured or suspended - there aren't going to be many opportunities for him. Don't think that's taking Ayr lightly either, in fairness.

Lafferty is cup tied too, so it'll be Morelos up front with Sadiq on the bench (based on him not playing the full game against Motherwell reserves.)

Hope we do not take this game for granted.  Ayr are top of the championship and the boy Shankland has been banging in the goals.  Think he has 12 already this season.

Yep. Can you imagine going out to them because we'd played too many players coming back from long term injuries.

A bit of squad rotation with fully fit players yeah, but get the game won before we let those returning from injury on.

Think Ayr are decent enough to turn us over if we went from the start with too many of those who typically dont start or are not yet fit.

Maybe Sadiq was taken off for being crap?

Would love to see Kelly or Palmer get some minutes. Both cracking young players. Would expect Wallace, Middleton and Sadiq all to play some part.

Tricky one this. Under estimate a team going strong in their league could prove costly. Trying to balance playing players just back from injury or returning to the starting 11 after a long period out - like Sadiq - is risky. We obviously need to rest players with some massive games coming up............so what do we do?

It's all about getting the balance right imo.

This is a real test of SG's managerial skills.
