On UEFA.com there's a tracker of the competitions best performing players:  https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/performancezone/?iv=true&iv=true#/

"Who are the form players in the UEFA Europa League this season? Using a specially devised algorithm, the FedEx Performance Zone reveals all.  The FedEx Performance Zone tracks players' form for their clubs in the UEFA Europa League and respective domestic leagues. The FedEx Performance Zone runs official player statistics through a specially designed algorithm to create rankings based on performances.  Player data from domestic matches and qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League (for teams entering via that competition) and UEFA Europa League forms the initial basis for the rankings, with domestic displays since 10 August also factored in.  The FedEx Performance Zone is purely a form tracker and does not suggest that one player is better than another.

How it works
Every player is assigned a primary on-field position, where they are expected to play the majority of the time.

The categories are:

Goalkeepers

Full-backs

Central defenders

Defensive midfielders

Central midfielders

Attacking midfielders

Wingers

Forwards

The data considered for each player is specific to the position. For example, tackles and blocks are considered to be key statistics for defensive midfielders, while successful dribbles and crosses are important metrics for wingers.  The algorithm uses player stats from matches in domestic leagues and the UEFA Europa League, delivering updates after these games are played. On UEFA Europa League matchnights, the rankings update live as the matches unfold."

James Tavernier is ranked #8 overall:

Thought he like the rest of the team was brilliant last night. At a time when I was getting frustrated with out final ball he was putting in some dangerous crosses and getting forward well always looking to create chances. Also did some good defensive work I remember one in particular when he came across to cover one of the cb’s and made an important tackle.

Hes no where near as bad as people make out, yes he can make mistakes but if he was the complete package he wouldn’t be playing in Scotland. We’re lucky to have him imo.

Stats only tell you what you want to hear....

He is growing into the Captain role, becoming a lot more vocal and pulling the ref up when it's needed. Case in point last night was the blatant fouling every time we went in for a header. Tav had a moan to the ref and the next contested ball by Berisha resulted in a free kick to us.

There's still going to be some defensive mistakes, but the pros massively outweigh the cons for me.
