Fuck the IFA, who are they to tell a person we pay if they can play for us or not.

They're not.  They're apparently invoking a Fifa rule, as is their right. Appears only to be enforced when a FA thinks a player is coming the cunt.

It’s a total riddy of a rule.

Well Lafferty needs to tell them to fuck off.

Rangers should be his first concern.

Remember that old excuse got made for Lafferty etc that they had to walk away from Rangers to protect their international career, it seems to be the opposite now.

Moral of the story is that Lafferty will do what Lafferty thinks benefits him the most.

Lafferty left to get his son away from big bad Glasgow..

Does anyone has a copy of the FIFA rule that ifa are applying - I am sure whatever reason for failing to turn up there must be 100 reasons not to.

A sick note or family matters works in most other industries - anyway, this specific rule needs checked before this game of table tennis continues.

EDIT:

Page 29 item 5 Calling Up Players

A player who has been called up by his association for one of its representative teams is, unless otherwise agreed by the relevant association, not entitled to play for the club with which he is registered during the period for which he has been released or should have been released pursuant to the provisions of this annexe, plus an additional period of five days.

The five days from 15th Oct then would expire on Saturday 20th, one day before the Hamilton game - seems to be typical press bullshit.

Just noticed the rule quoted on BBC web-site. Based on the 5 day rule Rangers should challenge this.

Guess it depends on the definition of the period they're talking about. Does it end after the game or at a specific point before the next domestic match.

To me it should be after the match, as otherwise at times, ie during the summer, the ban could be pending for weeks.

But who knows these days.

They played on Monday 15th, as you say that takes us to Saturday 20th. I assume Rangers will have been counting the days as well.

They played on the Monday aye, but he may have been due to stay with the squad until Tuesday or something. Who knows how these things work.

I suppose that is possible, if that is the case then we will just have to accept it and he either retires or does not do this again.

The Rule says that it is 5 days after the set out dates for the International matches. This means because some matches i.e France v Germany etc were played on the Tuesday then the 5 days is from then even tho Lafferty's Country played on Monday....bonkers rule!
