Tbh The whole Hall of Fame is a lot of shite anyway. More of an embarrassment to be included in it imo

While that may or may not be true, the way it’s been handled is a fucking disgrace.

Paul Gascoigne: Hall of Fame nomination withdrawn

Former England and Rangers player Paul Gascoigne has had his nomination for the Scottish Hall of Fame withdrawn.

Gascoigne, 51, was one of a number of candidates suggested by the public before being chosen by a panel.

However, it was reported some of the Scottish FA board would boycott the awards dinner at protest.

The Scottish Football Hall of Fame said "a number of factors, including ongoing enquiries, and concerns over the state of Paul's health" were behind the move.

The awards dinner takes place on Sunday, 21 October at Hampden Park.

Gascoigne was voted Player of the Year in his first season in Scotland and played a part in Rangers winning nine league titles in a row.

He was to be inducted along with four others, including former Scotland international Julie Fleeting.

Gascoigne joined the Glasgow side in 1995 from Lazio and went on to play more than 100 times for the club over three years.

Out of all the pictures of Gazza, the BBC choose a picture from the game that essentially stopped us from getting 10 in a row. Wonder why?

Our great club and everyone associated with it should completely and utterly cut all ties with the SFA. We should boycott meetings, events, interviews the fucking lot and release a statement to the media down south saying what a corrupt bunch of fuckers they really are and we should also be raising issues that unfairly go against us to UEFA. We need to kick up a huge shit storm

Right when mental health is in the public spotlight. Great decision from the SFA ?

Nothing to do with Paul's health, by announcing that some members would boycott the event, the SFA opened a can of worms in that they then realised that Paul, in his inimitable way, would probably say something in his acceptance speech which would totally embarrass them. They have fucked up big time over this as Paul will, in all probability, use it when giving future speeches and interviews.

First thing they should do is identify the SFA directors who were going to boycott Gazza's dinner. Liewell one of them, maybe?

Agreed. This is where it has stemmed from. No coincidence with the boycott and now withdrawing his nomination. Absolute scum.

And to use domestic abuse, sectarian behaviours and health issues as an excuse for it, that's an absolute disgrace. They should have asked the man first how he feels.
