Popular Post Smile 26,592
Good cause posted on FF. https://www.gofundme.com/donations-for-john-mcgall On Sunday 28th October, John McGall joined thousands of bears following his team, Rangers, to the cup Semi Final at Hampden. Unfortunately, John never made it to the game due to being involved in a serious accident on Letherby Drive. John was struck on the head by a signpost that was accidentally knocked over by a bus and sustained serious head injuries. John was well attended by Police Scotland and other emergency services ( to which a huge, heartfelt, thanks goes out to) and was rushed to hospital where he was initially in a coma. Fortunately, John has been responding well to treatment, but the extent of the injuries are not yet known. An accident of this nature is horrific for all involved with significant pressure put on his close family and friends. John will no doubt be facing a lengthy time off work, putting his family under a massive amount of financial pressure. This is the last thing they need, and the last thing they should face. I am creating this page to raise funds for John’s family, to help aid his recovery and to take one pressure away from them. Christmas is an expensive and stressful time of year for many, in normal circumstances; I ask all fellow bears, other Scottish football fans and anyone who can contribute a small amount to help John and his family to do so. Accidents like this really put things in perspective, and I urge anyone who can make a difference to do so ForeverAndEver, StaunchLondonGer, To Be A Ranger and 8 others
j1mgg 3,766
I would suggest the money is used to sue the bus company that knocked the sign over. I would also expect his company to pay him sick pay as well. Terry Hurlock Loyal and Sparkle
Gman36 3,453
He must surely be due a payout for that happening. Shocking accident that. Just shows what can happen. The old adage about getting hit by a bus is sadly true.

Statutory sick pay is something shite like 60 quid a week or something , and any claim from the bus company would take ages too go through , will obv be hard for the family in the short term

I wish the lad a speedy recovery and pretty sure the bus company will have liability insurance for such an incident.
jackunion 536
Saw the aftermath of this incident and heard the collision as it happened. I couldn’t work out what happened, I knew it was related to the bus driving past but he was well on the pavement and not anywhere near the road to get knocked over. From what I saw though the bus driver accelerated way to fast considering the build up of fans in that area.
