This sums up the reason for our lack of consistency lately for me. Aside from Barisic all of these players are midfielders. We've fixed a lot of the defensive issues we had last season and up front we at least look decent.

Grezda and Rossiter don't count yet as one arrived injured and other is long term. Losing Murphy and Dorrans again was a real blow early doors. Coulibaly was magnificent prior to his injury too and has looked off the pace since. We've really struggled to play a settled midfield since day one and a consequence of that is that Gerrard still probably isn't sure of his best pairings/starters in those positions. It's the engine of the team and when they are not ticking too often we look lacklustre and struggle to create. We need to get some of these guys back and on form.

Totally agree. Is it possible to see how we set up during the spell where we scored a lot more freely?  e. g. Dundee, Saints, Killie away and suggest that SG might go back to that set up. If some of the injured were playing then OK but, not all were and we looked much more likely to create and score.

They will shine once fully settled I think.

I actually thought you were serious:lol:

 Nah mate.....I've been singing Katic's praises in another thread, and really like Barisic. There's definitely a player in there when fit. Grezda I'm still undecided on, purely because we've seen little of him so far.

My mistake then:lol:

If Grezdas effort that hit the post against St Mirren went in it could have been the catalyst for him kicking on. Katic, although he settled well initially, might just be struggling now in a new country away from his family, who knows? Purely guesswork on my part.

We’ve not had much luck at all.

Murphy, Dorrans, Rossiter, Jack, Barisic, Grezda, Arfield, Coulibally have all had at least a few weeks out, most of them more than that

We have always had bad luck with long-term injuries for as far back as I can remember. I used to think it was the club doctor and medical team that were the reason behind it, but then we got a new medical team a few years back. I think we're fucking cursed.

Been poor since he's joined. Hasn't looked up to the speed of the shit show that is Scottish football.

Aye a left back that’s been in and about the Croatia team can’t handle playing against the likes of hibs and hearts  cunt’s played about 4 games and got an injury ffs.

I've not been overly impressed so far but I've still got real high hopes for the lad.

No question he's got a cracking left foot...I would like to see him get more of a shot at our set pieces when he returns.

His delivery for big Goldson at ibrox earlier on in the season was lovely.

Looking forward to his return.

Really need to get him back imo. More for his attacking than defending.

Going off the assist tables he had 3 out of 7 games compared to Candeias who has 4 out of 20 games and Kent who has 4 in 22!!

For me it would balance us right out and would let our hard working midfielders do what they do best rather than trying to be a creative force.
