Sky to offer £30m a season for SPFL exclusive rights

£30m per year ?

That would be about 1 1/2 EPL  games then.

I'm sure I read somewhere that 10% of sky subs come from Scotland so even if they gave us 2% of the EPL figure it would be a fortune for us.

Maybe a  threatened boycott of sky might move them . On second thoughts that's not going to happen.

Not popular with those attending games but more home games like us v the sheep or them v Hearts is going to be more appealing than the likes of St Mirren v Hamilton. Surely that would command a much higher fee from the broadcasters but it would have to mean a bigger cut for us and them.

Denmark get £45m a year

Belgium get £60m

and SPFL are trying to sell £30m a year like a good thing. Baring in mind we got £34m a season 14 years ago.

Standard of player we had in Scotland was far better back then than it is now.

For what it’s worth I hope Sky get it. Thoughts of Sutton in his Katie Hopkins gimmick is fuckin nauseating.

Have never had sky and likely never will. If decent streams are readily available then I am all for it. Does seem strange that countries like denmark and belgium are able to command more lucrative contracts though. Just confirmation of how poorly the scottish game is viewed these days, as if we needed it.

Paying for any fixture involving us tbf, OF drive the prices up but our viewing figures are always going to be higher than theirs because so many of they weirdos tune in to our games.

Agreed mate, advertising revenue for our viewing figures must make them a fortune.

That doesn’t even make sense. Never understand why people get so uptight about what the pundits say.

As long as you can see the 90 mins on field action what’s the problem?

then you are part of the problem

the cunts, in the studio and behind the production, are the same cunts who highlight one thing and ignore another

that's why they chose to devote an entire half time to greegs brushing an Aberdeen player and not even look at the penalty shout we had, late first half

multiply those sorts of things, every live TV game, over ten seasons and you may well get an answer as to why the filth get a booking every 9 tackles whilst we get one every 4.5

The same goes for them too. That’s what happens when you’re a big club you get scrutinised more.

You honestly think the referees give us more bookings because of sky sports coverage??

It's ridiculous how badly we are suffering because of the SPLTV debacle many years ago. Rejecting that Sky offer when the league was doing well fucked things massively and we've never really recovered in terms of revenue

Was it not a taig that fucked that up .,he was at the csfa

We can't compare TV money with European leagues that don't have the richest league in the world on their door step.

We're in the British market and viewing figures are poor. The English Championship has games with higher viewing figures and get even less per team than we get.

The league is shite, the teams are shite, the football is shite, the stadiums/pitches are shite and an embarrassment on TV. What is it people are wanting mega millions for?

If they want to maximise income then they need to get rid of the limit on games from each stadium and show more of ours and the taigs home games on TV.
