You don't need my permission. Just as I didn't need your feedback.

I can't argue with anything Gerrard said. I'm glad his post match reaction kept it honest for the fans and that he didn't name the individuals names who let the side down. The team needs to pull their socks up, they are professional athletes who should be able to do the basics and keep their positions. I'd love to know exactly what Gerrard said to the team at half time as the 2nd half of the game was a very unprofessional performance from the team.

Why do foreign journalists always ask strange questions that aren't actually pertinent to the game itself?

I always find they seem to be talking for ages and ages then when it is interpreted it's hardly anything!!! ? Not just in this interview but in general!!

Think this is poor from him. Really poor.

Actually think he’s spot on, they have had all the praise for this unbeaten run so they deserve all the criticism for playing like 12 year olds.

They cant handle it then they can fuck off.

I don’t think he was too critical, aside from the u12s kicking with both feet comment - which was probably aimed at Goldson and Flanagan who were shocking.

Gave them praise for getting here, and made it clear that we can’t defend like that and get results in Europe. Which is correct.

Different players react in different ways. Some are motivated by a kick up the arse, some by an arm round the shoulder and some by telling them how amazing they are. I suspect the likes of Goldson are in the first category.

Gave the attacking players their due, while criticised the defending. Entirely fair IMO.

Agreed. He’s done this publicly a few times now and I’m really not sure it’s the way to go because it’s not getting the reaction he seems to think it’s going to garner and if he carries this on the players will stop playing for him and when it comes to that it will be him who is out on his arse, regardless of whether he’s Steven Gerrard or not.

We need to move on from the player power culture we have at Rangers. If you fell out with Walter Smith your Rangers career was done. The manager must be the most important person at the club, and be backed beyond anything or anyone else.

The way McCoist, Warburton, Murty and to an extent Caixhina were clearly down the list of priorities was part of our shocking performance as a club over recent years.

The reason Walter got that was because of what he had done as a manager, he got the respect and got backed through the tough times because he had delivered in the past and you knew what he could do, Gerrard hasn't earned that yet as a manager & can't just be given it because of who he was as a player.

He's been backed financially so far, has had his choice of players (looking from the outside anyway) & so far he hasn't delivered. He now seems to be going down the route of singling the players out after every match (the players that he chose to sign) which is either going to spur them on to do better, which is unlikely in my eyes given they don't seem to have a backbone between them.

Or it's going to mean he burns bridges and we'll start hearing about fall outs in the dressing room as players won't stand for getting publically shamed every time they make a mistake.

There was a fear factor with Walter , same with Souness and Wallace. Gerrard doesnt have it and dont think he ever will going by the displays hes getting from this shower.

"Look how far we've come"

'I'm just happy to be in the group stages" is another cracker.

The sort of shite you'd expect from the sheep shaggers. Perennial losers both on and off the pitch.

Think he'll get a bit of the fear factor when he punts a few players in January/end of the season, Sadiq/Flanagan/Katic (don't particularly agree with the last one) but that's the 3 I think he'll try to make an example of and has done already with the changes. He'll get a different sort of fear factor in that the players will be shit scared to make a mistake.

Don't think he'll ever get the respect those managers got if he keeps going with these conferences though. Blast your players publically after a few poor performances aye but the thing about u12s last night was clearly aimed at Goldson, a player who might not be a world beater but has been our most consistent CB this season

Just screamed of a guy who's starting to lose the plot a bit

Sorry, you're right.

A Europa league match in a half empty stadium, involving a Russian team who couldn't buy a win, who's own fans hate them and couldn't be bothered turning up, with a 5:55 kick off, on BT Sport 3....is a big stage.

Retard. You need to watch some real football.

Situation might not have had the hype you’d expect but their team costs upwards of £100m and European football is a big stage, regardless of opposition. Think a team with Spartak’s Champions League pedigree brings it up a level or two.

Couldn’t work out in that last bit if you’re suggestion kick off time and TV channel impacted on their crowd numbers...not sure they have BT sport in Russia and I think the time there was 8:55 for the kick off?

Player power culture isn’t going away if anything it’s just going to become more prevalent. It’s a problem in the modern game that unfortunately isn’t going to go away.

I hope it was aimed at Ejaria.

While he looks twisty and annoying to play against he is 100% right foot only. Every touch, every pass, every time.

Players dont even need to watch his left leg because it is redundant.
