Mate I’ve noticed you backing tav for months like maself, and It’s funny how when it was easy to defend him he seemed to get more criticism on here 😂 but for the last few weeks I’ve felt tav deserves a bit of criticism, to the point I wasn’t going to defend him again till he stated showing the form that got my backing in the first place

you seem to have the same thinking, just shows it’s not the blind love for tav we’ve both been accused of it’s more criticism when it’s due

I’m not saying he played well but he didn’t hide, a lot of things didn’t come off for him but he kept going. It’s not like him and I was happy to see it.

Problem with tav is the captaincy, he isnt the type of player the rest will look up to when the chips are down and the going gets tough, and ability wise he isnt the standout player that will get the others going

Even when he's not at his best he never hides IMO. Even when he's not playing great he still has that drive and is always capable of that creative spark. Sometimes he makes mistakes but it's generally through trying to make something happen. His goals and assists ratio is incredible and he's not nearly as bad defensively as some make out. 

When things go bad as a collective it always seems to be his fault, and he should be stripped of the captaincy! He's a very easy (and unfair) target at times for some, regardless of what he does. And even when he does well some will either ignore it or play it down by saying "aye but.........." or "he need to do it in big games" not too dissimilar to criticism thrown at Morelos albeit to a far lesser scale. For us, EVERY game is a big game and every goal, assist and win are just important as each other.

A lot of people's minds are made up about Tav before he even plays mate, that'll never change.

He has poor games like every player, today was definitely one of them.

James Tavernier has 14 assists this season.  That's 14 crosses that have resulted in goals.  Not to mention the 9 goals he's scored.  Some are just hell bent on hating the guy despite the fact he and Morelos are carrying this team in an attacking sense.

I think he has played in every game.    I hope he has enough energy and quality in his tank to get through the next 2 games and make contributions to the side winning both.   After that, a very well earned rest.

I actually think his defending has improved consideratly, and even when not playing well he"s still a major threat going forward, there is much more to be concerned about in the team than Tav, but unfortunately some just seem to have a hate on for him.
