Left Back Position

Have been really impressed with Halliday since Gerrard has come in but his last few performances at left back have been excpetional. Defensively has been sound and some of the balls he has put into the box from corners especially has been sublime. Borna has looked like he has great potential and offers a lot on the overlap going forward and has a great delivery too. He just seems to be a bit stop start at the minute and feel he needs a good run in the side for us to really see the best of him. Flanagan did alright initially in the Europa qualifiers but is clear he is not first choice or even second choice so can't see him starting games unless tav gets injured on the right. Anyway who is first choice? I think a fully fit borna will have to be unless he is poor once given a run of games but think he will be a massive player for us. Halliday is a great option to have in midfield too and will give everything no matter where he plays. How does everyone else see this position shaping up?

Halliday is too much bombscare potential. Barasic is the man.

Even though he was the best player on the park in first game we completely dominated them in absolute years and hasn't put a foot wrong when called upon this season? Barisic is the better player without a doubt run but Halliday deserves to start for now

Anyone that has Halliday ahead of Barisic needs their head checked.

Halliday has been great, no problems about that but we’re talking about a Croatian international who contributes going forward so much and looks assured in defence. He’ll net us millions if he gets a run of games and fit.

No one is saying in the long run Halliday is better than Barisic. Halliday had the game of his life in the season on his life 7 days ago and deserves a place in the next starting 11 regardless. You play your fit, inform players and he's one of them.

No he doesn’t lol. If Barisic is fit he starts, no ifs or buts about it. Mental to consider otherwise

I'm more interested right now in who will do better than who will make more. Form player is Halliday.
