Sure is. He lost his daughter to the disease so set up a charity in her name. He heads off today. They reckon he will raise 300,000 by the end of it. magic8ball

Silver Fox 167
Ah--Wullie---for it is he I have as my avatar---he was my favourite player when I started getting interested in football when I was ten or so around 1968 or so. don't think he played much after 1970 or so. but he was a great dribbler

StaunchLondonGer 1,651
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYN65Y11w_A His single, perfect touch for this one (overhead ball coming in blind from behind him) is fucking poetry. And all the more entertaining for the taigs reacting true to form... 😀😀 scottyscott1963 and CoopsLaud
CoopsLaud 4,184
Fair play to the guy. I love these inspirational stories where auld yins are still active and pushing themselves to the limits still. And for such a worthy cause. Proper Rangers legend is willie. siddiqi_drinker
Wullies_bowly_legs 3,792
My favourite player when I was a young boy ( and still is) Met him a couple of times back then and he could not have been nicer, gave me his shirt but then he went back in to the dressing room to get as many of the guys to sign it as well. Also he gave me a signed ball etc next time I met him and a wee kickabout for a couple of minutes. This guy was my hero as you could possibly guess by the name and my avatar. Legend or hero are terms overused these days but this guy has earned it due to his skill, manners and charity work. Thermopylae 15,286
I'm speechless! What a guy Perhaps it's my imagination but if it was something negative the beeb's headline would have been Rangers player ... can't believe we are still forced to bankroll this showerhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-46836747

plumbGER 24,518
Love the wee man, didn't get to see him play but my dad told me all about him because he loved him as a player. Managed to meet him before a game where he happily chatted to me and my boy, got a picture of him l, my boy and my step-boy.
