A real dilemma for pontius Peter

"Or do they attempt to quietly settle with the victims out of court, thus admitting their guilt in covering up sick crimes against children in their care?"

They will settle would be my guess, but a condition of the settlement will be that they admit no liability. They will continue the PR spin that it was a separate entity but that out of the goodness of their heart they have agreed to support the victims as a charitable act.

Boak inducing, but this is how it will play out. Of course everyone will know the real truth, but just watch them try to spin this as a positive.

You may be right...BUT....how much of a dent will paying off what appears to be a very large number of victims make in the bank balance. It could potentially be up there in excess of the value of the fabled Big Tax Case.....

No idea of the figure mate, no idea how these things usually go.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was anywhere between £1m and £50m.

Dunno why the writer gets their knickers in a twist about the interviewer. They don't seem to understand that her job is to robustly probe. She does it well on the side of propriety, and the lawyer is clearly quite comfortable with it and uses it to give counter to arguments that some will be making. The VB should avoid that kind of over sensitivity in making their points. It's not a good look.

I always expected them to try to normalise it with comments claiming it happens all over society and they’re just one of many but I really didn’t expect the despicable bastards to come out with the separate entity shite. They’re digging a big hole for themselves!

Being realistic, it has happened all over society. No club - including our own - is can be completely certain that it hasn’t happened. Difference is, they knew what was going on, covered it up and facilitated it. There’s absolutely no way you can normalise that.

It has no relevance whatsoever to their situation so why in every statement so far have they felt the need to end it with it being a society issue and happened at other football clubs. Your right there is no equivalence whatsoever. The only truth that bastardised club has ever said is “ a club like no other”
