Gerrard : Post Match Reaction

He really does look shell shocked in that interview but I still feel he's the man to bring 55 and silverware to the club.

Fans calling for him to walk are off their heads if they think we will find a better man for the job. The man's an out and out winner.... a born leader.

Disappointed with the way he has been attacked in this thread tbh.We need to back him 100%

A seemingly quiet day in the Rangers PR machine today?   Only a fan-zone article and update on loan review in the Rangers website, and nothing at all on Twitty-thingy since they posted the Defoe interview around 18hrs ago.     Maybe they are all having an away day or something trying to muster strength to go again by consuming lots of coffee and cakes.   Or maybe they're galvanised by the Brexit happenings (non-happenings).

Clearly a day for keeping a low profile with minimal news.    Ah well tomorrow is another day as the saying goes and maybe the Club will find some things to say / report.

You had cunts on here moaning because he was blaming the players constantly and not taking responsibility himself.

Now he's not speaking to the squad and says he's responsible but people are in uproar because he's not kicking doors down and chucking shit at the players?

Typical RM.

Murty done it and got absolutely slaughtered, Gerrard does it and it’s fine.

Typical RM

It wasn't the players fault to a man outwith McGregor, that they were dug shite and not for the first time.

Between feigning injury, misplaced passes, out of position, slow as a week in the jail, pish dead balls and crosses and one shot on target. I saw Stevie do all that!

I just hope he now realises who the pretenders are and you can start with Tav.

I see that Defoe has also done a post match interview.   Wonder who decided it should be Defoe that stands in front of the camera to offer a view.    Couldn't have been SG as he said he hadn't gone into the dressing room as he was too angry.    And why Defoe, a loan player?    Why not the captain - taking some personal responsibility to reflect the mood of the dressing room?

Note the number of times Defoe says the important thing is to 'stick together'.    Maybe its just a case of the obvious thing to say but he sure does shuffle about a fair bit in that interview - his body language screams out that he's not comfortable and is a bit wary of being drawn into saying too much beyond general stock football sayings.

He acknowledges there was (understandably) an atmosphere in the dressing room.  Probably (I suppose) intensified with SG deciding not to put in an appearance.    Maybe by 'atmosphere' he includes words exchanged or maybe some player finger-pointing.  Who knows.   No doubt ranks will be closed and things move on to the next press conference where SG and whichever player draws the short straw pitch up to somehow try to talk up the virtually meaningless next league game.

This 👍

Our Spice Boy Cavalier Captain should have been in there, not an on loan Veteran who was thrown on for the final few minutes of a seemingly ever recurring abomination.

To be a successful Rangers manager .You need a really bad streak in you

SG is weak and not nearly ruthless enough

Comical he said he was staying out of the dressing room last night because he was angry.

Souness would have been straight in there and slaughtered them. He used to keep them in the dressing room for an hour after the match and no interviews to the media........

Did think that was pathetic management

You are spot on .It's maybe one of the reasons they don't turn up so often

Jim Duffy said this on Clyde his opinion is if the players can’t take a bollocking of the gaffer they shouldn’t be Rangers players. They don’t have the mentality to cope.

Which imo is spot on.

SG probs doesn’t want to break the weak links before the end of the season and they will get sold/released/returned.
