Pretty much this, I think defence is OK but obv can be improved but our real weakness is out wide up front where we offer literally nothing leaving morelos as u said looking for scraps or needing to create chances himself.  Address the wi gers with some quality and we would look a dif team.

OP is right defenders need to be able to defend first and foremost. If they can overlap with the midfield at time good but Tav spends more time in the opposition final third than he does at RB. Against teams like the sheep I would rather Andy Halliday at LB than Barisic.

As a defender, you must be able to defend first. Anything else is a bonus.  If you can't defend you are not a fucking defender, a very basic first principle that many seem incapable of understanding. Now if we needed a dug breeder, well that's a different matter entirely. He was and is Gerrard's first and biggest mistake and by fuck is he regretting it!

As for this captain pish, what would stepping up mean exactly? You seem to be suggesting that Morelos should be captain, the guy who was rolling around on the floor when he got "hit in the face", but for the sake of discussion, how exactly would Morelos having a band of fabric around his arm have changed the game last night? Nothing like someone that cant speak English trying to organise a team.
