2019 Grand National

Recommended Posts

Surprised nobody's started a thread yet.

Recommend the programme on ITV4 tonight, 'The Virtual Grand National'. Programmers and data people run a simulation of the race.

It's only the third year it's been done... in 2017 they came up with Cause Of Causes (2nd at 16s) and last year they got Tiger Roll.

Fancy rathvinden and got rathvinden in the sweep.

We've got 10 horses that aren't bought in the sweep, including one for Arthur so if any of them win it rolls over to the Scottish which isn't the worst thing. Gives cunts with 66/1 shots a chance of winning in the long run.

Sorry mate, I forgot. A tip for the National is impossible though.

Did a bit of work on it that I wasn't going to post on here, but fuck it. This is all based on the last 11 winners.

National Rules CW 05.04.19.pdf

Don't know if I've maybe gone too far this year.

Applying all the rules leaves you with:

06  Go Conquer

09  Lake View Lad

12  Dounikos

16  Warriors Tale

(R1 The Young Master)

The ITV4 programme came up with Rathvinden by the way, I've eliminated it because it's only had one run this season and all of the last 11 winners haven't had less than 3 season runs going into the National. It might have missed on a few more things but that was one of the first I checked.

I put ‘Step Back’ on due to its colours and white faced jockey.  £10 to win outright at 28/1.

Also put £10 E/W on ‘Blow By Blow’ at 80/1.  In the highly unlikely event that it wins it returns £490.

10 ew at 80/1 doesn't pay 490

£960. Plus stake returns £980. If you want you can send me the spare £470.

Is it not a grand plus stake.£10 @80/1 +£10@20/1(quarter odds).
