BREAKING: Allegations have been made that Fleetwood manager Joey Barton has assaulted Barnsley manager Daniel Stendel after today's match.

 

Fleetwood Town manager Joey Barton has been accused of assaulting Barnsley manager Daniel Stendel.

According to Sky Sports News, Barton was involved in a tunnel brawl at Oakwell after his side were beaten 4-2 in a heated encounter which saw Harry Souttar sent off.

Reports suggest Barton and Stendel had to be separated by stewards and police in the tunnel.

South Yorkshire Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident.

The controversial former Man City and Newcastle player has Fleetwood sitting 11th in the League One table in his first managerial job.

Neither side fulfilled their post-match media duties after the final whistle at Oakwell.
