Graham Roberts iPhone 52
Rangers celebrated the opening of the Broomloan Road stand with a 2-1 win over a star-studded Spurs side featuring the front line of Ossie Ardiles, Ricardo Villa, Glenn Hoddle and Steve Archibald. Whilst the Spurs side may have had a duo of Argetinian World Cup stars, the Rangers had the talents of Davie Cooper on show and it was the Moody Blue who helped to open the scoring for the Light Blues in a blistering start, with his cross headed back across goal by Colin Jackson and put over the line by the head of Ian Redford. Newly signed Jim Bett and Colin McAdam impressed throughout the friendly and it was the latter who scored the second goal of the game for the Gers by getting his head onto a long Redford cross. Spurs pulled one back through John Lacy after some nice work by Ardiles, but it was too late and the Gers won the match 2-1. Rangers 2:1 Tottenham Ibrox Stadium Attendance: 35,000 Rangers: Peter McCloy, Sandy Jardine, Alex Miller, Tom Forsyth, Colin Jackson, Jim Bett, Davie Cooper, Bobby Russell, Colin McAdam, Ian Redford, John MacDonald Subs: Derek Johnstone SPURS: Barry Daines, Gordon Smith, Chris Hughton, Terry Yorath, John Lacy, Steve Perryman, Osvaldo Ardiles, Steve Archibald, Garth Crooks, Glenn Hoddle, Ricardo Villa Blumhoilann and Bad Robot
