The Rangers defender was charged by the SFA compliance office Claire Whyte for decking Scott Brown at Ibrox last weekend Ref Kevin Clancy booked Flanagan for elbowing the celtic skipper during the first half of Gers’ Old Firm win. But three former refs reviewed footage and all agreed the Ibrox defender should have been sent off by the whistler. Flanagan faced a two-match ban but an independent panel cleared him at Hampden today – leaving the Hoops amazed. A celtic spokesperson said: “The whole matter is a huge embarrassment for Scottish football.” Only saw the bold headline --- thought they were discussing McCafferty. 1690tamRFC, lefkada and SonOfLuther

AberfeldyBlue 1,550
what is particularly galling about the incident is that it was an arm to the chest, no contact at all was made to the face but Brown went down 1. he did not need to and 2. he went down holding his face. This incident should be about cheats trying to get penalties and ruining the game, to call it any other way illustrates that 1. you have an agenda or 2. you truly do not understand football can i get an amen? evenstevens 890
Friday 17 May 2019 Fast Track Notice of Complaint | Jonathon Flanagan, Player, Rangers FC Player: Jonathon Flanagan, Player, Rangers FC Match: Rangers FC v celtic FC Sunday 12 May 2019 Competition: Scottish Premiership Disciplinary Rule allegedly breached:Disciplinary Rule 200 : Where any one of the sending off offences of (A1) serious foul play, (A2) violent conduct, and (A3) spitting at an opponent or any other person is committed by a player at a match, but that sending off offence was not seen by any of the match officials at the time that it was committed, the mandatory suspension for that sending off offence as provided for in Annex C of the Judicial Panel Protocol shall be applied to the player. Any Fast Track Notice of Complaint alleging a breach of this Rule shall be Determined by a Fast Track Tribunal subject to the provisions of Section 13. Fast Track Tribunal Hearing: Friday 17 May 2019 Outcome: Dismissed. See the bit in bold. Wonder if that was reason it was dismissed on appeal. They wrote the charge. Ref clearly saw it. Case dismissed?? Would be good to see the written reasons but their website only provides the summary above. HG5

That looks like it should be it - so why should it ever have got that far, as it was clearly dealt with on the day? Just making the rules up as they go along, where it involves us..... Also, there are that many laptop (& real) lawyers over on the scum side, who must know the rules by now - they’re probably making spurious complaints, simply so they can be offended when it doesn’t go their way.
