Great tenacity shown by getting the late, late winner.

we need more of a cutting edge though, and we seemed to settle for 1-0 quite early on, which is dangerous.

Midfield looked comfortable but too many square balls, and looks like Morelos can't breathe on a player without half of Scottish football having a hissy fit.

tough test passed though, but we will need to improve. Least year we weren't winning that.

Referee pretty poor as usual.

We were fucking shocking today. So pedestrian, so slow. I know the pitch doesn't help but there has to be more energy and movement than that. Happy we got the win, however we need to improve a hell of a lot.

Great to get 3 points when it looked unlikely, great end to the game.

HOWEVER, once we got the goal in the first half we created 0 changes except for Aribo’s shot which forced a save. Ojo gave us nothing, Jack was sideways all game, Aribo was an empty jersey in anywhere apart from the final third and Tavernier and Barisic have to come in for criticism for the quality of crossing. Every time they would put the ball in to the box straight to the keeper, rather than looking for a 1-2 and getting in to the box looking for a cut back.

Same old turgid pish. No creativity when faced with the low block. Lucky 3 points. Katic my MOM, won every header. Morelos lost O’Donnell for the goal.

Tell you what, that 2nd half was awful. No urgency.

That foul on Tav before there goal though, is exactly why people think Colum is a cheat.

Win. We move on. Must improve.

That foul on Tav is exactly why it’s going to be brutally difficult to win the league (along with performances like that).  But we do the exact same foul a few mins later and of course, we get pulled up for it.

Barisic should never start again and Ojo is a man down

He wasn’t great again but to be fair it can’t be easy without a proper winger in front either. We really need to sign a couple of players of real quality rather than more of the same squad fillers if we are to accomplish anything this season.

Tough away opening fixture against a decent side.  Got the monkey off our back and won at their dump.

Not the worst start to the season tbh.

I'll take it.

They weren’t as poor as the Connah’s Quay debacle would lead you to believe.

If Goldson didn’t finish that it was a penalty with that cunt Broadfoot all over him. Would never have been given though so thank fuck it went in

As if Collum was giving us a penalty.

Winger in front doesn’t stop him putting a decent ball into the box.

First things first: relief at scraping home with a win.

We were promised an improvement on quality.    So this is it is it?     I had thought the team was capable of playing way better than that even on a plastic pitch.

Gerrard knew the score in terms of what was needed this season.  He's had a full season of seeing how this league works and how teams line up to deal with Rangers.   On this evidence he's learned very little and is clearly still finding it hard to set a side up to deal with this type of game so that the game is won convincingly.   That was leaving it way too late today and he's got out of immediate trouble of facing a catch up situation after the very first league game.   But it was a close run thing.

Being a generous as I can be after watching that shite maybe too many of the players had their minds on fast forward to a game in Denmark against a proper team and against a side that tries to play proper football.     But that'd not be an acceptable excuse.   Will be interesting to see who Gerrard drops for the game in Denmark because one thing is for absolute sure - he needs to find a blend in the team that performs a whole lot better that that apology for an effort today (which was a continuation of the Progres apology of an effort).
