So after all that, none of the three are good enough.

Now, what kind of new LB do we want? One that is good at going forward but can't defend like Tav? One that can defend but not so hot at going forward? One that is good at both?

Answer, one that is good at both. Any names?

Aye loads but when whenever that question was asked before, we couldn’t afford them and they wouldn’t play in the SPFL

So we just have to get on with it.

Tavernier can defend.

103 folk would rather we played a spineless defender that can’t really defend and isn’t that great going forward.

Over a defender that can defend (Flanagan) and a player that would try and play and give 100% even if you cut of one of his legs (Halliday)

Bonkers.

Flangans defending is horrific. Did you even watch our previous two games?

At fault for both goals.

When did that become a thing all of a sudden.

He is better than Spinless and Halliday at defending. So that’s the question not whether he is a great defender.

He lost a runner for Hibs coupled with a great pass that the wee rat won’t play again this season. And was too quick for the other to get on the attack when at 3-0 it wasn’t needed.

Only when suddenly having a brain fart in our defence suddenly becomes unforgivable.

Flanagan struggles with the basics of football and makes multiple fuck ups every game. He has no positional awareness, no pace, looks awkward on the ball, terrible passer and offers nothing going forward.

That's more than a "brain fart" in our defence.

People jizz over Barisic because he played well in two games for Osijek, and got lucky with Croatia, they do the same with Flanagan because he done well with absolutely zero pressure on when the season was finished. Halliday done well for us, and done it with pressure on, there’s the winner.

I've not seen Halliday or Flanagan put in the type of performance that Barisic did against us - i think that's why people are still hoping he'll come good, because he clearly has the ability.

Flanagan is brutal imo and Hallidays biggest attribute is he "gives 100%" or he has "the heart of a lion" he's very rarely complimented on his footballing ability.

Up until now, none of them have been anywhere near good enough imo.

His performance against the tarriers was better

Halliday, easy.

Aye he was good, but so was every player that day tbf.

If i'm thinking about the same game, the tackle on Ntcham is probably the highlight from his performance that day, which had very little to do with ability and more to do with "he gives 100%" and "has the heart of a lion".

Not taking anything away from Halliday tbh, he's a decent squad player, but he's nowhere near good enough to be our first choice LB imo.

Bollocks but if it gives you a comfort blanket then fill your boots.

Your drowning in double standards mind you.

Agreed. Of the three he should be though, preferably we’d go buy one

Flanagan is probably the better defender of the 3 which is probably why he will start in the big games unless we get someone else in.

But less than ideal as he will give the ball away and always looks like he has a mistake in him in that position.

A very frustrating weakness of ours which needs addressed urgently as it will be targeted. As has been said we shld sell BB while he's trading off his Croatia starting status and get someone in better suited to our style with the right mentality.
