Tbh we’ve not been that bad.

This is a much better Porto side than we played a fortnight ago, and after struggling through the opening 20 we’ve probably been marginally the better side.

Porto have been much better, we have been poor throughout

Porto are a good side.. they werent great a couple of weeks ago but they have definitely stepped up. We arent playing great at the same time, but we have to remember that we didnt play great in the first half in Porto either.. second half was very good, however.

This is more than winnable. Stop playing stupid passes and put some decent deliveries in and we’ll score.

...and try to get within ten feet of their players, stop making every second touch a tackle, stop trying whatever it is Barker is doing...

Fuck knows how gerrard changes this, we are so used to playing the 451 and morelos bullying between 2 centre halves, we havent a clue how to deal with 3 centre halves

Watch as they get the ball at the back, the side centre halves drift wide so morelos can't pressure them, their wingbacks drop so either kent and barker need to drop or they press and the porto wingbacks are free

Our midfield 3 isnt working, morelos has nothing to work with, any second ball in the porto half falls to them as our 3 are deeper than a trident sub, and one of our strengths in scotland is allowing a centre half time to walk up with the ball, except porto have two up top, so goldson and Helander dont have time now, and our fullbacks cant get into the game because the porto wingbacks are doing a shift and a half

Id honestly take kamara or davis off and put ojo on, play kent at attacking mid just off morelos and out ojo wide,

We've been second best here but aren't behind, that's one of the only positives tonight.  We're the only team in this group to have won an away point so they are all capable of beating one another.  With 2 of our remaining games at home (inc this one) we could take a major step to qualifying out this group but we need to show far more desire that this.

Old firm was worse for me

True, but this is lacklustre - absolutely no momentum going forward. As it stands with YB losing, we need a performance in the 2nd half - it would propel us to the top of the table. No fckn about Rangers , let's do this now.

We allowed Porto to play too much that half.

Though to be fair, on actual chances, pretty even.

Need another big 2nd half.

Our formation allows porto to play, morelos is essentially 3v1 in their half, so their defence walks the ball up the park

Self belief seems to have disappeared. Players look as nervous as an altar boy at confession. Barker waste of a shirt, Tav a disaster waiting to happen again, slight improvement at the end of the half, but nowhere near good enough if we have any serious ambitions of winning this.

Woeful from Barker there, in a game where chances are few and far between you can’t afford to be so wasteful.

Need to shake things up at half time, defence are sitting too deep and our midfield are right on top of them so there’s a massive gap up to Morelos for Porto to pass the ball around to their hearts content.

Could do with someone in there to show a bit of dynamism, support Morelos and get the whole team pushed 15 yards further up the park.

As well as that, the way we’re playing it looks like a set piece may be our best bet for a goal so we can’t afford to keep throwing the ball to Tavernier and letting him hit it straight into the first defender every time.
