Congrats on re-emerging from your 11 year coma! Joined in 2008 and all your posts tonight? That’s some doing.

Ps. That score would do nicely.

Cheers mate, lurked for about 3 or 4 years after joining then used FF up until now (got a bit sick of it and fancied a change)

Heard today that if us and the tarriers qualify through the group then there are two champions league places for Scotland next year. Qualifying route obviously. Anyone know anymore or is that bullshit?

Not necessarily because it depends how teams from other countries do, and also it depends on results not just whether we qualify or not. But it's pretty likely that if we both got the results needed to qualify that yes, we would be up to 15th or possibly even 14th in the rankings. The 2 CL spots would be the season after next in that case, not for next season (I.e. the top 2 next season would get into the 21/22 CL qualifiers).

We probably need another 8 coefficient points between us this season to make 15th (its 2 for a win 1 for a draw in that system). Could do it with less if Olympiacos, APOEL, Red Star and Partizan all have extremely poor remaining campaigns, or more if any of them do very well. Likelihood is as well as both qualifying, at least one of us would need to get a couple of results in the knockouts.

If we dont make it this season we are almost certain to next season, given how few points Scottish teams have to defend from 5 years ago - we could even see an automatic group stage spot in 3 or 4 years time way things are going.

Automatic entry to the groups would be a game changer for the winner of our league.

I remember when that used to be the case, huge bonus on top of winning the league itself.

The next 3 years our points to defend are 3, then 4.375, then 4. Last year we got 6.75, and this year we're on 6.5 with 3 rounds of group stage to go (one more draw for us or them and we match last years perfomance). With the likes of Turkey and Ukraine dropping like stones down the rankings, and the rate we're catching the likes of Serbia, Czech, Greece, Cyprus and Denmark (already overtaken Switzerland and Croatia this season), it's a massive possibility.

It will only last a couple of seasons as we'll then have bigger points totals to defend, no qualifying rounds to rack up points, and a fifth diddy team to dilute our score, but we need to ensure those couple of seasons we are the ones winning the league and not them.

Marega hasn't travelled.

Aboubakar will probably play and he is basically an identical version of Marega (*not a racist*). Strong, good in the air, decent scoring record. Don't think Marega being out is as big as the media seem to be making out. Only thing is Aboubakar is coming back from a bad injury

Afraid that is not true. First of all the places for season 20/21 are defined on scotland's position as at end of last season. Scotland were 20th and need to get to 15th to get a second CL slot. We are currently up to 18th or maybe 17th (can't remember) based on this season so far. If we both get through group we should get up to 16th although 15th, depends on performance of teams from countries ranked 15th to 17th. If we do get to 15th we would then get 2 CL  places in 21/22.

I really think we can win this one. On holiday just now and went to watch them play Maritimo, and they didn’t look up to much. Some good players, but if we play like we did in the second half at Porto, we’ll do them.

I think it'll likely be Ze Luis and Soares starting, both decent goal scoring records.

Aboubakar, didn't realise he was injured last year that badly but I see he was loaned out to Besiktas too. Looks like he's fallen away a bit.

We're in good form, hopefully we can take it into this game. The only thing that has me a bit worried is we are really struggling to start games well at this moment in time.

Don't understand why, but it lowers our chances of taking something from the game. I hope from the start we're giving Porto zero space and are in their faces from start to finish.

1-0 to the famous
