That was my understanding too . I remember they lowered the pitch years ago to add a couple of rows and they said that was as far as they could go because of the water level . Who knows , maybe there have been advances in engineering or new products that can now cross that bridge that weren't there before .

Old style stands, slightly modernised with the wrap around effect, framing the iconic Bill Struth Main stand. If it was feasible to do we’d end up with one of the most unique stadiums in football. Perfect blend of the traditional and modern style of stadia.
Cedrick 8,048
No idea about feasibility so don’t laugh 😂, if it went ahead would they need to put steps in the tunnel ?

Does the pitch not a have a problem already because it sits so low. I am no expert C B but I think lowering the pitch is a poor idea because of drainage and views from the back of upper stands. I think it has to be the corners (where the screens are) or as you say do as they did on the GR.
GersInCanada 7,775
It is often the case at Ibrox where the away support is at best around 100. Move them elsewhere and fill that corner with Bears. Won't give 6,000 but another 1,000 at no extra cost.

Screens are pathetic , I think at the time the reason we put them in was to get big Euro finals , a necessity from Uefa. We got zero , they were a complete waste of cash as well as being shite....... I look up at them from time to time if the play is at the other end, but they are poor quality and could easely be replaced (if that was wanted) under the Broomy and Copland stands. I just do not think lowering the pitch is a good idea, but I could be wrong.

Willis 20,919
For the 150th anniversary? Why is it taking 142 years?
KingKirk 25,461
I really can't see how we get 6 thousand extra seats. How far down would we need to drop the pitch 8-12feet. How are fans in club deck gonna see the near touchline from the back.
Inigo 32,524
Expansion is an absolute must in the short to medium term. In tickets alone their 10k additional seats leaves us probably something like 4 million quid behind them every season.

Prso's headband 34,991
Don’t think there’s any point in it. The demand won’t be there when we lift the league trophy again and normal service resumes like it was years ago
Jb85 1,783
Just finished the tour. The tour guide said he’d heard that the pitch was maybe getting lowered to 2metres then more seats put in. Looking to get around 57k.
Rambo1872 4,065
I would rather we spent the money on getting a worldwide merchandise business set up at this point in time. Surely that would make more money per year than 6000 seats.
