Goalscorers Needed Please.

Our biggest failing this season and last has been the lack of all round goal scoring from the team,

Last season it was only Morelos and Tavernier we could rely on to score regular and important goals. This season we have a joint effort from Morelos and Defoe, unfortunately not bothat the same time, and a few recent efforts by Kent.

Biggest failing is of course the midfield. Early in the season it seemed we had solved the problem wit Aribo, Ojo and then Jack popping in a few, but goals from the midfield are now non existent.

Hopefully this is being seriously looked at, with potential solutions in the transfer window.

I'm sure thats why Aribo was signed mate; unfortunately, he's as soft as baby's first shite.  I've repeated myself far too many times on here in the last 18months saying we are generally very poor in the final third and, despite bringing in quite a number of players to influence that part of the park, it remains piss poor. It'll be our undoing, sadly.

44 goals scored between Morelos & Defoe.

47 more goals scored by everyone else.

Only 3 teams in British football have score more goals.

You are talking shite.

The only midfielder to score more than 2 goals this season in the league is Ryan Jack (4).

Have you been watching our midfield ?

We play like Liverpool, the midfield aren’t there to break forward and score goals in the way people think or expect them to. They are instructed to do a specific job and they do it well, even if it is a bit boring for lack of a better word.

It’s the lack of goal coming from the wide players that fucks us up and leads to an over reliance on Morelos or Defoe for goals.

We play like Liverpool, but our opponents don't play like Liverpools opponents, therefore we need to be different from them

Salah, firmino and mane all find pockets of space in between opposition lines, our front 3 cant because there is no space, this is where we need the midfield 3 to be more dynamic and adapt to the game, arfields goal last night, has kamara, jack or davis done that at all this season, would jack have broke forward like that last night to allow defoe the opportunity to flick it on, i highly doubt it

Our regular midfield 3 all seem to play on our goalside, and opposition find that easier to defend against than the likes of arfields running

Don’t disagree with any of that.

Ive always thought we should be a 4-2-3-1 side with the 4-3-3 we play now only used in certain games and situations.

Hopefully the signing of Hagi is the start of a shift towards that.

I dont even think we need two sitting mids, especially at home, play a 4141 and push teams right into their box,

Imagine us trying shit like our second goal last night, but pretty much everytime we go up the park,

Morelos with aribo and arfield in behind, one plays the ball into morelos and the other pushes into the space he creates, then you have two wingers either side dragging fullbacks wide as can be
