Fuck it, just play each other 3 times and have a longer winter break Mid Jan- Start of Mar.

Would help with European games and the obvious games that get canned could be rescheduled at either end of the break. The 2x home game v 1x away game issue, is simply solved by you get 2 home games against half the teams one year then you get 2 away games the following season. Any teams promoted take the fixture setting from the relegated team.

Five of last five, however when it was drawn up, it was decided Rangers and them had to have 19 home and away. The mhanky mob would need to play two teams away,  therefore 3 times away in one season. I think we have played the sheep 3 times away on more than one occasion

Aye my mistake. Was quoted in gossip column by that paper...

The TV companies want four Old Firm games a season and ten current set up is basically the only way to do it. They aren’t going to sacrifice that to add teams like Queen of the South and Ayr to the league.

Make it a 14 team top league. Each team plays each other twice making a total of 26 games. Then split in to two leagues of 7 instead of 6 and play each other twice again for a total of 12 games. That gives you a 38 game season, 4 OF games, gives a fairer number of home and away games and makes it a more exciting end to the season where more points are likely to be dropped against the better teams. Same applies to the bottom 7 where each team is more likely to pick up points against the weaker teams.

Read today that if the top six remain the same until split the scum play five of there 6 games at home?

It is a total myth, the same league finish means we would have 5 games away from home, it will be done in a manner to ensure 19 at home an 19away for both us and them, if they can with the other 4 teams they try for the same but there has been exceptional circumstances where at team has finished with 20 at home and 18 away which is farcical in itself but not unusual

It’s no coincidence the Belgian league is shite too.

Lol what? Ranked higher than the Dutch league, in the top 10 in Europe and 4 out of 5 teams still left in European competition this season.

Genk, Brugge, Gent have done reasonably well in Europe the past few years. Standard Liege are not too bad. Anderlecht have fallen off a cliff recently right enough.

And Hagi couldn't even get a game for Genk.

It’s been maybe a couple of seasons since I’ve watched a full match, but the standard is generally good among the top 4 or 5 teams and the league is very competitive.

If they manage to merge their league with Holland like they have been talking about it will be some competition.

14 team team league , play each other home and away and then the top 6 play each other home and away again. 3 relegation spots to keep the bottom 8 interesting.

Keeps the 4 of games and takes away the chance of playing a team 3 times either home or away. Also means two less games which eases the fixture congestion a wee bit.

I still think we Should have 3 divisions.  20 teams in each division.  38 games a season playing each team home and away.  Many will say the quality would be shit.  But, outside of the Old Firm, Hearts and Hibs, and Aberdeen, it’s all shit anyway.

Teams wont vote that in because they might lose the OF pound one game a season

The SPFL faces a fixtures sweat as celtic will be due five home games after the split if the top six teams remain the same. (Daily Record)

Apoligises for that rags quote...

We'd rather it was quoted or copy and pasted than the link to the article being shared.

There's only 42 teams across four divisions in Scotland. Are you going to magic the other 18 teams out your arse like you did with this idea 🙈🙈

They should (in theory) be made go away to 5th and 6th which funnily enough would end up being 2 of their toughest away games in Livi and Hibs if the top 6 stays the way it is right now.

Those 2 away fixtures have caused them plenty of bother the past few seasons, so hopefully they not only fuck up there in the upcoming games, but have to go back and fuck up again.

Livi and Hibs should in theory be coming to our bit for the 3rd time each as well if it stays the same. They'll be raging if that pans out like that.

It could play a big part actually if we magically get a grip and put this run together somehow.

Belgium, Holland and Romania all have mental split-like ends to the season.

Romanian set up would be far better in our league, play everyone twice then you play the other teams in your half of the league twice

We’d have to add teams to the league to do that or it would be a 32 game season
