Europe is a bonus at this point but if we go out, and I expect we will, the same people who say they don’t care about Europe will suddenly use it as a stick to beat him with and that just adds more pressure. The game against Hearts is must win. If he loses that then his coat is very much on a wobbly peg (although Saturday is a cup game it’s worth noting that we are still the only team Hearts have beat in the league under Stendel and he took over in the second week of December). Katic was stinking too, and should have been hooked. How people can say ‘don’t blame Gerrard’ is beyond me. If you wanted you could also compare the number of international players in the squad and their caps compared to ours but that would also demonstrate the job Gerrard faces with our inexperience compared to theirs. The biggest issue we have at our club is that no manager will ever be given time to truly compete. Every manager will be expected to do just that based on a lesser aberage player salary,, transfer budget, loan budget and with a poorer starting squad.
