frenv 2,125 Posted February 23, 2020 Share Posted February 23, 2020 I don't see how him publically saying that he needs Helander back pronto is supposed to help our defense - the reality is that he has Goldson, Katic and Edmunson available, and the latter two he's dropped after playing poorly. Publically telling those two (Goldson is safe, irrespective of what he does or doesn't do) that neither would be playing right now if he had his way achieves what other than further kicking their dismal confidence levels? As one of the other posters said, the only option to help bandage the defence today was to add Edmunson to a back three, rather than subbing Katic if that would have destroyed his morale even more. Katic was directly at fault for both goals, but the reality is that, had we scored more, they would have been irrelevant. They usually don't spend too much but a crack at the CL coupled with the potential 10 I don't see them not going all out for it, this was the season to do it but we have royally fucked it from a winning position, 10 points dropped since the winter break is comical and anyone else would have been giving the bullet for it.
