"Season means the period of the year commencing on the date of the first League Match in a Season and ending on the date of the last League Match in the same Season or otherwise as determined by the Board and which excludes the Close Season;"

Aye but also says this:  The Clubs for the time being entitled in terms of these Rules to participate in the Premiership shall, disregarding any abandoned or postponed matches, play in 38 League Matches in any one Season.

Disregarding abandoned or postponed matches means if a game is called of because of the weather halfway through it doesn’t count towards the total fixtures right? They can’t apply one rule and not another. The last fixture is the 38th game.

Denmark have called a national period of isolation and have no positive cares yet.

Its going to impact on the country so it’s inevitable football will shut down for a period.

How you solve it, fuck knows, but one thing you can be assured of is it’ll be in their favour.

Maybe I have. However, if these small clubs fold....regardless of the situation, I won't be shedding a tear and waving a hanky!

I wouldn’t either but still not the point here.

If we want an outcome which suits the whole game and not just one club then a proposal will need to be made which works for each club.

They also stipulate the number of fixtures.

You can’t say “we’ll apply this rule but overlook that one”

If the season is incomplete, then it cannot possibly count, the only exception being, for example, where the final set of games are dead rubbers with champions, European qualification and relegation all already resolved.

And again, that same rule also comes under the boards discretion. They won't void the season. I wouldn't be surprised if the Premiership was played to the split and called at 33 games each. Although, as of yesterday there had been absolutely no talks with clubs and the SFA/SPFL over cancelling games.

They have two options.

Void the season, or find some compromise that enough clubs like to not veto it. This would be restructure position.

If it is voided, which I think is the fairest way of doing it, the clubs that qualified at the end of last season should get the euro places.

Bit shit as it gives them another shot at the champions league when it could have been us. But we all have to compromise.

This is the fairest option. Everyone treated the same, no assumptions about who might win what, start again from square one.

The total prize money appears to be £25m which should be shared equally amongst all clubs in a division, with the leagues highest up the pyramid getting more to share.

For example, £1m between League 2 teams (regardless of current points or position), £3m between League 1 teams, £8m between Championship teams and £14m shared equally between the top tier teams.

And that then takes you back to their definition of what the season is and the line about board discretion.

Should the season be unable to be completed, the season will be deemed complete at that point.

Then every club should resign from the SFA (well except the scum) and start our own organisation.

The rules are pretty clear on it - as The Dude points out the SPFL board can determine the season end date if required.

I don't think they could realistically claim they had won the title this year if that was to happen. Would be farcical.

Will be interesting to see if this is in line with what other countries do.

They may not get a say. It may be purely a board decision and if government says no games, the decision is effectively made for them already.
