Tonight...

Disappointing tonight, but can't be too disheartened.

Not the Rangers way, but we are where we are, and were up against a team who had plenty of players rated in the £25m+ bracket. You'd get no change from £100m to buy their scorers tonight and it showed when it mattered. Reality is, they bring on £25m rated players off their bench, we bring on a guy on loan from Hibs and Matt Polster. Whilst our squad remains at that level we will always struggle to compete against quality sides - barring the odd game where it just clicks.

But..... you are right, we fail to capitalise on pressure and dominance time and time again domestically.

Half disagree, Leverkusen are a good side but tonight just emphasised our problems. Midfield needs gutting in the summer, still can't fathom how Davis stayed on the pitch. Very little decent service for the front three and a defence that consistently struggles to deal with the first ball. Team looks like they've never played together, no chemistry between any of the players what the fuck are they doing in training.

Midfield been needing upgraded for 2 seasons now. It should have been done last summer, instead we signed dozens of wingers that can't even get in the side.

We were beat by a far superior side tonight end off.....crazy thing is though....for all the ball they had in the 1st half they created next to fuck all...compare that to Braga who genuinely looked like scoring at will....difference mind you is we never looked a threat against Bayer but created plenty against Braga.....different levels with contrasting games

Yes they are a very good team, but we once again started the game so poorly. Why could we not start the first half as we started the second ?

The players seem to have lost all their confidence for some reason, maybe they never really had it but got results before the winter break when the pressure was not as much.

I have no idea to be honest and as the OP says it is not playing against these type of teams that is the problems, it is the rest of the teams in our league.

Don't think it's a time for blaming anyone. We are what we are and found our level. Not good enough domestically and overperformed in Europe to our credit.

As I've already said, they looked a step up in quality from the off. Pretty pleasant on the eye. Think they had a couple more gears in them. Our European run has pretty much at an end if we are honest with ourselves.

It is now all about the learning. Our deficiencies in quality back to front are all too obvious despite the many excuses made for some of the well kent faces.  They have played their part, but they can take us no further.

Time for some honest reflection. Sort out the wheat from the chaff and build again for next season.

There is no room for sentiment in football. You live or die by the result.

They are a very good team & deserved their win

But they weren't any better in than Braga were at Ibrox, not even close.

Difference is tonight was we played 75 minutes of utter shite football, similar to how we've played domestically since the turn of the year

Far too many passengers (Davis/Kent the main culprits) to stand any chance against a team like the that.

And how Hagi doesn't start is another ridiculous Gerrard decision to add to his growing list
