The league must be voided

Already been done by one of my colleagues. No point replicating it within 24 hours.

Unfortunately, I can't just work for other outlets without approval from my employer.

You could try and write a book with all your spare time, a good porn story would be good

Where does it say if the rule can't be adhered to the league is void? You're just making things up now.

Where does it say we can ignore that rule and we can alter others to suit a narrative with the sole purpose to gift our favourite football team a league title and relegate a team that we donÔÇÖt like.

Within the premise of a 38 game season.

So date to start and date to end or different dates to those as determined by the Board but not including the preseason.

Meant close season.

You're adding bits that dont exist there.

Season means the period of the year commencing on the date of the first league match in a season and ending on the date of the last league match in the same season or otherwise as determined by the board and which excludes the close season.

Period of year commencing date (first game) and ending on date ( last game) or otherwise....

The section above is about a duration between dates. The otherwise imo clearly relates to dates.

If your interpretation was correct, why would the definition not be:

Season means the period of the year commencing with the first league match in a season and ending with the last league match in the same season or otherwise as determined by the board and which excludes the close season.

The above would perfectly fit your narrative. But given the term date is applied it is clearly of significance.

Heres my point, it might be a petty reason not to allow them to gift the the title to tarriers but if the shoe was on the other foot, does the dude, or anybody else who thinks we should accept the tarriers being gifted another title, think the tarriers would accept us being named champions and fucking up their 10iar ambitions or do you think they would fight with every last breath for a null and void?

Aye, that's it. They're doing it because they don't like Hearts and want celtic to get the title. čśé

Why are they doing it at all? It makes no sense. Just void the fucking season and start again from where we started last season. Simples.

TheyÔÇÖre looking at this issue with the main objective being who wins the┬áleague, This is an issue where the league canÔÇÖt be completed and that is the only consideration when looking at what the┬árule book says. ItÔÇÖs not all about celtic stealing a league title like the┬ámedia want us to believe.┬á

Not my interpretation but that of the SPFL.

That might be your opinion but the opinion of the SPFL, their lawyers and a lawyer I spoke to about it is that it gives them the power to end the season early.

As I said earlier, clubs might dispute that but as it stands, thats how the SPFL are going with it.

Exactly, the media attempting to make the story about petty bias and rivals, when its about the league season being fucked.

Voiding the season creates far more problems.

Who gets EL spaces? Should Motherwell lose out to Killie? Hardly fair.

Why should the likes of Dundee United and Raith have to spend an extra season in league below?

How do you determine prize money split? Is it based on last season? Clubs would get prize money based on a division they may not even be in.

Have the discussions with clubs been two way and open in terms of what the clubs want or largely one way with what the spfl are proposing (end season, award titles)?

How exactly are they approaching it? Opinion gathering or decision informing?

As we thought.

Quite right too. It is just utter madness to award a league title, decide relegation etc on a incomplete season. Regardless of whether it can be completed or not, clubs are impacted, sporting integrity was called out in 2008 about extending the season. If it cant be completed in normal season. Void it. Start again.

You go back to the start of this season and replay the whole thing. Europe is fucked, CL is fucked. Cups are fucked. Just reboot and go again.

Yes. It's not just been a one-way street.  Clubs have been involved throughout.

They're taking on what clubs have to say and are looking at what does the least damage to the most members.

Because of one of your arguments, you stated this is about the section detailing champions and the part references the premiership structure detailing that 38 games must be played is irrelevant. YouÔÇÖve it the wrong way round.

They don't need to void it to avoid giving the title to celtic though, do they?

They can declare this year's title as vacant, use the current standings to allocate European places for next year and expand the league to allow teams "promotion" in a one-off season before reverting to normal the following year

That would make everyone happy except celtic. 41 clubs >>> 1.

Tell that to the clubs who stand to lose (relatively) massive figures as a result of unfairly being denied promotion.

I'm sure Raith will be quite happy to just rip it up and spend another season in the third tier.

When did you speak to a lawyer?  Have you mentioned this before, if not why wouldn't you have mentioned you had legal guidance, that's kinda significant?

What is his legal input specifically?

You have bought into this being the correct  course of action, interpretation. You're stoically arguing this narrative. So dear ya its the  spfl interpretation not yours when you evidently concur.

The rules are all read on their own merits. There's no requirement for 38 games for the SPFL to declare the Season ended.
