The league must be voided

Recommended Posts

Answer:  A great big YES

Reason: The league was abandoned in 1939 after 5 games, Rangers were top, no official title was given. It's not about how many games have been played, points or goal differences.  It's about a competition that has been started and has had to be stopped because of a national crisis.  Precedent has been set. No official title should be given/gifted, along with no promotions or demotions.

Handing celtic the title means they have to relegate Hearts, promote Dundee, relegated bottom of the championship and so on.

Therefore incurring legal challenge after legal challenge after legal challenge from all the clubs who would claim they could have been promoted, avoided relegation etc. The SFA will have to pay out through the ass in compensation, legal fees etc.

A whole lot of shit just to ensure ONE fucking club is kept happy.

Aint happening mate.

Season will be scrapped, null  and void.

We’re a goal up with ten minutes to go.

Sprinklers suffer a “malfunction” and cannot be switched off - game abandoned.

”Aye, well we were ahead so we’re claiming a win. Mind how you go...”

That's not a bad point. I remember we were beating Dundee Utd in a crucial game that got called off at half time. Don't remember a single person claiming we should have been given 3 points... because it would have been fucking ridiculous. That was just one game, this is a league title and trophy we're talking about!

There's also every possibility the league will restart in a few weeks with all hands played.

Maybe, but I think government will over rule the sporting bodies restarting games, as the numbers are set to rise and peak in summer.

If games can’t be played now there is next to no chance in the coming months. This is getting worse and isn’t going to suddenly go away. It’s a pandemic. A pandemic is an extremely serious worldwide health disaster.

Playing Sports is way down on the ladder for anyone when these happen 👍

At the end of the day A league system has to be fair.

In the SPFL we play the same teams, the same number of times to earn our right into the portion of the 'championship split / Relegation split'.

This league has been suspended prior to us having played the same number games, played the same teams the same number of times. We have not even reached the split.

With this inherent unfairness, it cannot be allowed for one club to be crowned the 'champions' as it has not been played over an even playing field.

Sporting integrity was banded about plenty in 2012, and as much as we moaned, we in the end had to accept it and have dealt with it.

Now it is time that 'Sporting Integrity' is put to the test to see if it was purely about the jealous punishing of one club, or if it genuinely does mean something to the Scottish game.

We are not playing Football Manager here. We cannot and must not accept clicking on the 'Go on Holiday' button and allow a league title to be gifted to anyone without it being won on a fair playing field.

100%

Spot on

Example....if a game kicks off at 3 o’clock on a Saturday and the home team are 3 nil up then it gets abandoned for any reason the result is void and the game gets rescheduled and starts again.

You cannot say you won something when you didn’t.

You can argue all day that you would have won but the fact is you didn’t.

Void the season, you void the results. 👍

Well they can’t award the title to celtic whole it is still possible for us to mathematically win the league. People need to remember that the helicopter has changed direction twice already. This could have been the case this season. Nobody knows so the league, IMO, if can’t be completed must be voided

It’s got to be voided.  We win our game in hand, win both old firm games and the gap is down to 4 points.

That’s all ifs, buts and maybes but so is them saying they would have won it.  It can’t be proven so it simply can’t be awarded.

Void the league, all other incomplete competitions and write it off as an unprecedented season.  There’s no other way. Tough titties to any other team affected, including Liverpool.  Shite, but one of those things.

Correct. No chance this is going away, this is massive in fact you feel as though there's something they are not telling you. And all kidding aside, football is done for the forseeable future and the need of the many outweighs the need of a few disgruntled self centred brats.

Talk that we're looking as late as September.

I don't believe it'll come to that at all. People simply won't let their whole life be put on hold for months because the flu outs going about. The over reaction to all this is beyond a joke.
