The quality of of football might be a lot better but the english league is nothing but a tourist attraction run purely to make money now.

Partly right, lots of tourists and day trippers paying big sums to watch matches, but....try saying that to the 90% who are regular supporters.  Not sure fans of Carlisle who do the 800 mile round trip to a midweek away at Plymouth would agree.

The point is English clubs play reserve teams in the league cup and soon the same in the FAcup. Why on earth would there clubs want another meaningless cup competition that won’t draw crowds or tv revenue?

It’s already at that stage

What cup would that be? Why would anyone bother with it?

Could maybe call it the Texaco cup  and run it for a couple of years in the early 70s then  abandon the idear because of a total lack of interest.

Why is everyone so confident we'll be fine after all this btw? Folk talking about killing off most of Scottish football and such but we're never getting into England. Pure fantasy. Even folk still desperately clinging on to the notion after all these years is pretty pathetic. And again, what's the guarantee we'll be fine in all this?
