Havent clicked the link but the alleged proposal was 14 teams, playing 13 games home and away. Top 6 break away in split, playing 5 more games home and away. Bottom 8 do similar, giving them 14 more games. The extra games being comp for not being in a split containing us and scum.

So yes, some teams play 36 games, others play 40 games. Mental eh.

In this unique football situation we find ourselves in ... the total absence of honesty ... fairness ... integrity .... merit ... governance and transparency from our administrators .... and their behind the scenes manipulators pulling the strings .... is the single solitary barrier that has to be successfully challenged then changed or we will never move one inch forward ...... for positive change to happen this monopoly/cabal has to be dismantled completely ..... or its pointless as we are up against a stacked deck in the form of the SPFL/SFA.

Ibrox wasn't built in a day ..... neither will the evidence we are holding bring down this mob at Hampden in a day .... but to start a journey .... long or short .... you have to take the initial first step .... so hopefully what we do have within our dossier is enough to knock the wind out of their sails ..... and start the process of reformation towards a fairer administrative set up ..... and rid us of their malignant influence.

Whenever this crisis comes to an end .... and the decisions about awarding tainted titles has been *settled* one way or another ...... and regardless of the outcome of what our board's gathered evidence has of initially challenging the status quo ...... we will still have to face the future with a positive attitude .... and continue to fight for positive change at administrative level.

On the field of play ..... where it matters most .... as this thread will testify  ...... we have to prove that we are up for the fight to regain our place as Champions of Scotland ..... with no tainted Asterisks to dispute the titles we go on to win.

The next few days will reveal whether we have them bang to rights or not ..... but the past couple of weeks has definitely shown that they are not as invincible as they think they are ..... cracks have begun to appear ..... hopefully whatever evidence  we have leads to future serious structural damage.

The tv companies weren't happy at all, which is why the SPL disappeared and the two leagues became one body under the SPFL.   So they could benefit from the rights to broadcast our matches in the lower divisions and the whole of scottish football "benefited from our journey".    Carrot was that we'd be back and so would matches against them.

CORONAVIRUS JOINT RESPONSE GROUP UPDATE

MAY 5TH, 2020

Ian Maxwell and Neil Doncaster today attended a virtual roundtable with Joe FitzPatrick, Minister for Public Health, Sport and Wellbeing, Professor Jason Leitch, the National Clinical Director, and representatives from Scottish Rugby and Scottish Racing.

The roundtable was convened by the Scottish Government to identify commonalities among high-attendance spectator sports in respect of COVID-19 and its impact.

The Joint Response Group representatives laid out the challenges specific to Scottish football - financial, sporting, logistical and infrastructural - and outlined the framework for the Scottish Football Restart project announced last week.

Ian Maxwell, Scottish FA Chief Executive: “It was an important introductory step in mapping-out how football can continue to respect the measures put in place to protect public health, while at the same planning for the reintroduction of the game at the appropriate time whilst ensuring the survival of our clubs in the meantime.

“The Minister and the National Clinical Director both acknowledged the importance of the national sport to the health and wellbeing of the country but, understandably, reiterated the need to respect the current measures in place to save lives by containing the spread of the virus as outlined by the First Minister.

“We outlined the pragmatic steps that we believe can assist in safeguarding the survival of our clubs in the short term, and in the coming weeks help clubs emerge from lockdown and begin the process of preparing for the reintroduction of football.

“We also reiterated that supporters attending matches is a fabric of Scottish football, and integral to the matchday experience and future viability of the sport. We were encouraged by the input of the Minister and Professor Leitch and look forward to building on this introductory meeting in the near future.”

Neil Doncaster, SPFL Chief Executive: “We gave the Minister a frank summary of the existential crisis our game is facing. Gate receipts make up a far higher proportion of our income than in England, which benefits from huge TV deals, so until we get back to playing in front of crowds, our game will remain in grave peril.

“It was encouraging to hear the Minister recognise the social and health benefits of football in Scotland, which generates hundreds of millions of pounds for the Scottish economy annually.

“As sport is a devolved responsibility, we’ll continue to be guided by the Scottish Government’s health experts on when we are able to resume matches, but that looks to be some while away.

“We have already seen the UK Government pledging £16m support to Rugby League in England to prevent it from being devastated by COVID-19. The longer we are unable to play matches in Scotland, the more essential will be significant financial support for our hard-pressed national sport.

They were still happy enough to stump up decent cash, though. That's all I'm meaning.

Obviously they still want their full quota of Old Firm games, that's a given.

But I think people think the TV mobs hold all the cards in Scotland when it comes to it, they don't.

I'd love nothing more than them to come out and just tell the SPFL where to go with their tin-pot schemes.

If this format is proposed Dundee have fucked it royally, it would mean utd promoted and next season they would have cost themselves 2 derby games(at home),they’re not far ahead of Ayr, Dunfermline and Arbroath this season as it is, fucking mind boggling why they would vote for it

It's worse than that.

The article suggests a 7 + 7 split which leaves one team sitting out each round of fixtures. 

Last round of fixtures where one team has finished all their games the week before could be interesting. 

Bet your house on us sitting out the last week with celtic knowing a victory by say 3 goals gives them the title.

Agreed but the revenues the TV companies paid in these years dropped off significantly. Clubs also survived us not visiting them however that was by downsizing squads and bring in inferior players to keep costs down. The whole standard of the scottish game dropped and no one outside Scotland gave any notice to it. The only time the English show any interest is when us and them are vying for the title with only a few games left.
