Blue Avenger 22,567
As the shitstorm within the SPFL rages on, along with this virus, will there even be any football next season? Holyrood alluding that there will be no public gatherings until a vaccine is found and looking at 18 months time. Does a new season start under closed doors? Will the players/players union agree to it with the risks involved as social distancing cannot be maintained in a contact sport. Then there are the financial implications. How do clubs earn revenue IF we even get closed doors? TV money? How are ST's disbursed and prices set? I can see crowds returning in a limited capacity in the new year, but not much chance before that, so I cannot see so many surving with such a reduced income. Many hard questions yet to be asked and answers given, because the whole future of the game as we know it is under threat due to this virus and I fear many will not survive. 35 Yard Dangerman 3,472
I hope at least 50% of the teams that are struggling go to the wall.
TMB 14,167
I think the quarantine stuff will be off/on for a couple of years. Can’t see things getting back to normal for quite some time.
Essandoh 21,102
My mate was told by his club that we’d be lucky to see another game in 2020. January-February of next year was said to be more likely and even then it’s guess work.
Born Sinner 298
Doesn’t bear thinking about. Ideally we would start next season early October, scrap internationals, scrap the winter break, and play later into the season. All guesswork atm.

Old No7. 774
If they keep the social distancing as part of long term recovery, you would need to leave min 4 seats between each person at Ibrox.
tannerall 25,935
Scottish football is no longer with us. It died in 2012.
Bad Robot 21,030
the whole thing has been overplayed and I think bcd will happen this season but not in our shitty league as the taigs will want to award the taigs before this happens as they know there’s a chance they’ll lose it. Including 4 in front of you and 4 behind? You would need to bring in your own atmosphere.

This appears to be the view from a professor from the UCL Institute for Global Health, he said the UK could endure up to nine more waves after lockdown measures are relaxed. Why start a season when it would most likely be regularly disrupted with lockdowns.

English FA negotiated with HMRC finding an outcome that protected football teams that had used tax schemes which included EBTs the Scottish FA used it as a means to punish a football team. This collaboration for their football team hasn’t just started with the gifting of this league title, the others were gifted too. You could be right, jealously and hatred might have just finished Scottish football.
Courtyard Bear 41,357
Put it this way no football next season no football clubs. So if you honestly think we won’t get a season, then we won’t have a club to support anymore.
BlueKnight87 17,242
I think it will start late September time and possibly BCD. I also think a few clubs will be hitting the wall by the time this is done. With the ones left struggling financially for some time.

Then we will lose about 75% of the clubs in Scotland, if not more, and that would include us. On the bright side it may spell the end of the SFA and who ever is left can apply to join the English FA.
