Del Juve 1
Ex-Inter defender Francesco Coco has quit football at the age of 30 to pursue a career as a film star. The Sicilian wing-back was once regarded as one of Italy’s most promising stoppers, but went off the rails due to persistent injuries and a party lifestyle. Coco played 28 games on loan to Livorno in 2005-06, but was sidelined again last term at Torino and has decided to call it a day. Having cancelled his contract with the Nerazzurri, which would have bound him to the club until 2009, it had been expected that Coco would continue playing in America. There has been reported interest from the New York Red Bulls and New England Revolution, but his mind is made up. “I have been thinking about this for a while now and it is a reasoned decision not made on the spur of the moment,†Coco insisted.
