Juve prepare Ivanovic swoop

Serbian defensive starlet Branislav Ivanovic is set for a January move to Juventus, according to Press reports.

The 23-year-old Lokomotiv Moscow ace came to the fore at the summer’s European Under-21 Championships in Holland where he earned a place in UEFA’s Team of the Tournament.

Juve are likely to look to strengthen their back line in the winter transfer window as their new-look defence has been far from convincing so far.

Ivanovic is rated so highly largely due to his ability with the ball at his feet, which is remarkable for a centre-back.

Rumours suggest that the Old Lady have agreed a fee of just under £6m for the ex-OFK Beograd man and are preparing a five-year contract to keep him in Turin until 2012.
