With him being from Kilbrinie and going to Garnock Academy, I'd think it was highly likely he would support Rangers. I was at school with his brother Ian. Gordon wasn't the brightest and went to Kilbirnie Central (non academic) rather than Dalry High or Speirs School. He would have left school about 5 years before Garnock Academy opened.
