rfc_no1fan 13 Posted June 4, 2008 Share Posted June 4, 2008 I simply dont understand why we arent using the fact that we reached a Major European Final to attract better quality of players to the SPL. This is the best time to sell a move to Rangers to quality players, but instead we dont even bother trying. Yes, these players are going to cost more than the dross that you can pick up from the Sphell, but it would be worth while in the long run. When signing these players, we could also make the players aware that if they come to Rangers and perform they will secure moves to the Premiership like Al Hutton did or be linked with big money moves like Cuellar and McGregor. In the past players have snubbed the SPhell as they think noone pays attention to it, now we have proof that top teams around Europe are aware that there is some quality up here. If only SDM would release a reasonable ammount of cash and show some ambition we could put ourselves in a position which would set us up for many years to come. As long as we keep the backbone of the team together, Bringing in quality players with potentiel and then selling them on for a profit would make us a success both on and off the field. Most big transfers will go through once the players return to their clubs for pre-season. If we are to make quality signings they will undoubtedly come later on in the summer. Your post is very premature, if we have still not made any quality additions come the last week of the transfer window then we should start to question things but at the moment there is plenty of time and i am sure there are already moves being made behind the scenes. You know as much as the rest of us which is what is reported in the media, other than that we know nothing. Do you seriously believe Walter is sitting thinking "It's okay we won't bring in any good players, the team is fine"? End of the day, Walter is the manager and knows for more about football than any of us.
