To say he doesnt have the build to move up a weight is bollocks. Floyd started at Super Feather, and is around the same size! The problem is he went to Welter and fought 'live' fighters - Collazo and Floyd. Both outclassed him, as he actually stepped up a level in competition as well as the weight. Prior to that, and outwith shot fighters, every fighter on Ricky's resume is a 'tomato can,' hand picked by Frank Warren (as FW knew RH wasn't gonna make the top grade).

Mayweather is 3" taller, with a 7" reach advantage on Hatton.

Hatton is a small guy, and imo too small to move up effectively. If he was to move up a weight, he'd be the shortest of all the top welterweights, with the shortest reach.

Williams - 6'1'' tall, 82'' reach

Mayweather - 5'9'' tall, 72" reach

Mosely - 5'9'' tall, 74" reach

Cotto - 5'8'', 69" reach

Margarito - 5'11'' tall, 73" reach

Berto - 5'8'' tall, 72" reach

Judah - 5'8'' tall, 71" reach

Clottey - 5'9'' tall, 70'' reach

Cintron - 5'11'', 72" reach

De La Hoya - 5'11'' tall, 72" reach

Hatton - 5'6'' tall, 65'' reach

Hatton is significantly smaller than all the top guys. Particularly his reach.

 Think that ends that argunment......If Hatton can get at PMs body then i think Hatton can stop him, Hatton tends to jump in when he punches and against a fast fighter he could get caught even by a light hitter. If it goes to points the next fight could be a factor..Hatton to win.

Can Ricky Hatton make it three wins out of three? Manchester's finest takes on New York's Paulie Malignaggi at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas. We are expecting things to get underway at about 0430 GMT, so stay with me and stay awake...it's going to be a cracker.
