  2. The irony in these threads is unbelievable. If there was a thread like this celebrating terrorists and child murderers, the uber offended would be up in arms... No difference between the UVF, IRA in my book...all killed innocent civilians, have fuck all to do with football. Why is this in the Bears Den?

  3. The anti-taig thing... what DOES it have to do with Rangers Football Club anyway ? I understand the anti-papery/ papist stance... and how things are as in ARE in Northern Ireland.... but it has nout to do with The Rangers... draw a line under it because all it DOES do is get our football Club into trouble... This Has to STOP !

  4. When people don't live and let live, things usually just go around in circles. If ye like and believe in the songs, then sing them. If ye don't like them, then don't fuckin sing them. But nobody should be telling others what they can and can't sing. Simple really.

  6. To all the politically correct, self righteous, "offended" fans on this thread. Next time youre in Ibrox and a chorus on non Rangers songs ie. The Sash or Derrys Walls or Build My Gallows etc starts, please stand up and make yourselves known and tell everyone who is singing those "bad" songs to "Shut up, the club doesnt need or want fans like you"! We'll see what reaction you receive.

  7. Cant say im shocked that a thread like this makes an appearance on a Saturday night. If people are interested in all this then I have nothing against it. However linking it to Rangers is pathetic.

  10. You may or may not be a taig. But you take self righteousness to a new level with your "holier than thou" attitude towards so called fellow fans.

  11. Theres a difference between being politically correct and thinking for yourself. I don't associate myself with orange orders or the UVF or sing anything to do with political troubles in ireland because it's nothing to do with me. Nor is 300 years old battles and struggles for religious dominance. I'm not saying people aren't entitled to believe and follow this if they wish, but it has nothing to do with Rangers Football Club and I resent my team being used as a vehicle to peddle historical hatred and bile.

  12. I find it amazing how many people on here want to stop Rangers fans singing songs on the basis we are being sectarian. We are THE most policed club on this very subject, yet that doesn’t seem to be enough for some people. It amazes me how these same people would dare say anything to anyone face to face at the game, but love to do their criticising from behind a key board. I really worry for the fans going forward, we are already experiencing a lack of atmosphere due to fans not knowing what to sing. Our clubs history is steeped in links to all sorts of protestant organisations, links to these exist in various forms throughout our fan base and are reflected in our club colours, the songs we sing and the organisations where they come from. Some may wish to change this and to a greater extent the club has indeed cleaned up its image and yet remains to be the most policed club. To my mind this reflects the bias shown against this club and the reason our fan base has rallied behind the club once more.

  13. Oh dear has this thread brpught out all the Socialist Republicans in our Fanbase. The fact of the matter is the Loyalist Volunteers where dying in the Trenches way back at the Somme. Those days Ulster sent Thousands of them to fight and die for us all. It would do you all good to remember why these men died ,and what they faught for. I dont condone some of the Rogue elements who perpertrated killing innocent Catholics or Protestants for that matter , during the troubles Started by the Republican So called Civil Rights, and IRA ,but no matter how you see it a lot of them died fighting another Terrorist group, who was intent in killing them first. Rule Brittania ,and long live the Union of The United Kingdom ,and Northern Ireland. Millions died for it.Even some of the men from the South Volunteered to fight for Britain we must not forget that.

  17. did king james II convert to catholicism? did his religous liberty policies make the british public suspicious and make it easy for william to breeze in and take the throne? and was it the birth of his catholic son james francis edward (a catholic heir) which was the final straw and what motivated the nobles to invite william over? did william then fight exclusively with catholics over in ireland? yes william apparently had the backing of the pope but that was because of louis XIV and him limiting papal authority in france (gallicanism). the papal states supported the jacobites later on. despite what some say the glorious revolution was about catholics and protestants. if it wasnt for the williamite efforts in the boyne, derry, limerick etc we would have seen the restoration of a catholic monarchy. fact cough.

  19. The Pope supported King William's campaign against King James and even sent him personal congratulations after his victory. Williams army even contained a regiment of highly trained, professional Catholic soldiers. Too much has been revealed about William's victory at the Boyne for it to be hailed as a Purely Protestant victory over Popery.

  21. Na that's absolute rubbish,as I said I'd like to see where this has been peddled. I respect folks rights not to sing these songs but it's certainly not a two way street when it comes to them respecting our right to sing 'Rangers songs'. A good Rangers man eats, sleeps and shits Rangers. Nothing to do with matches attended, how much money you spend in the club shop or how many Loyalist songs you know.

  22. isn't that precisely what makes the plastics pastic? This bizarre belief that a region is claimed as home despite only having a tenous link at best to their newly claimed home? Plenty bears fall into all the kiddy on ulsterman pish because they think thats what you need to do to be a 'real' Rangers man. When it comes to being in the pub with other Rangers men, I couldn't care less how much you hate catholics or how many walks you've been in or the fact that you can play Penny Arcade on the flute. However, if you can sit and tell me stories about watching Rangers play Morton at Cappielow in the snow in 1974 and remember travelling to furthest reaches of Europe to watch Rangers against a team of teachers and fishermen then THAT is what matters. Nothig else.

  25. Would have been on the covenanter s side as this was a Protestant lowland against papist jacobite battle if you look into the history of it....................so pleased that the city of my birth Glasgow had a three day public holiday to celebrate the out come of that battle.............go check your history. What brought you to the doors of Ibrox, what was the allure of Rangers? Where were you born and raised? And you rather ignorant friend by that I mean manner wise and knowledge, prattles on about snp , at the same time not knowing anything as to what their manifesto is to running a separatist country. Months ago I called their head office oin Edinburgh and the lack of answers as to what they intend to do about certain areas was quite frankly shocking.

  26. I think the point here is that our Armed Forces wouldn't be subject to abuse in England, unlike in Scotland by a Loud mouthed Minority of Republican Rebels , who Hate us,but are willing to take the benefits of the Union.

  28. You have an inability to discuss anything without bringing your unionist politics and anti Scots sentimemnts into it - basically you are so entrenched in this you have lost sight of everything else. Thus your posts mainly speak pish and you are so intense about it you come acrossas rabid. Just my humble opinion
