  14. From the bottom division in Scotland to finish top of our Europa league group in less than 10 years is a fantastic achievement. I couldn’t really give a fuck about the money, for pure football and prestige reasons it’s superb and sends out a message to everyone that The Rangers are back and only going to get stronger.

  22. Finishing third in the Championship five years ago and now we're topping a European group unbeaten. Only happened because we all stuck with the club no matter how shite it got. This is the reward for our loyalty.

  23. I don't think you can understate just how big an advantage they've blown. If the shoe was on the other foot - and we'd had 5+ years without any serious competition, an enormous financial head-start, and consistent entry into the latter stages of top-tier European qualification - I'd expect us to have a system in place that made it practically impossible for them to catch up. Something like the model Ajax have been able to implement (and just imagine how much more dominant Ajax would've been since 2010 if PSV had gone through what Rangers did). What football department in the world has had a comparable budgetary advantage and so much time to implement/realise strategy without any serious competition (and resultant fan pressure)? I can't think of one. Their structural advantages should have made it impossible for us to catch them. It should have made them a production line and hub for top youth players. It should have allowed them implement a managerial succession strategy which sourced promising young talent (like a certain Mr. Gerrard) and gave them time to develop. It should have allowed them to divert a significant percentage of their first-team budget for 5+ years into scouting and development - which would have made the gap even larger. Instead: they've got Neil Lennon on the brink and no viable replacement, a faltering youth system which their best young players want to quit, a financial advantage which is rapidly diminishing, an ageing and increasingly useless captain, elimination from two European competitions and a cup before January, and a scouting system which has to answer for spending £7M and >£60/week on Barkas and Shane Duffy.

  26. To potentially go 26 unbeaten, rest 5 or 6 key players, win, clean sheet, bank well over £1million and top the group would be extraordinary! Fucking unbelievable!

  27. This week they’re praying to St Jude for a new manager. Last week they were praying to St Johnstone for a point.

  30. I was desperate just to get to the group stages again this season for financial reasons mainly. I then wanted a good team to test ourselves again for excitement reasons mainly. I would have bitten your hand off to squeeze second place and go through to the last 32 but to win the group unbeaten so comfortably is incredible.
