I'm not defending GvB but what do you expect him to say? If he says the squad is shite then that'll really boost their confidence. As someone who managed a team(not football) one of the main objectives is to keep them motivated and bollockings were done in private not publicly, it's about man management.

One of the issues that was glaringly obvious yesterday was the difference in sideways and back passing, they mainly pass forwards towards an attacking option with speed when we pass sideways or backwards most of the time. There was one spectacular example of that when we had a free kick about 30 yards from their goal and it ended up with a pass back to McLaughlan, how ridiculous is that, we should've taken the initiative and gone forward more at them instead of just inviting them on to us. If it's the tactics then I'm sorry to say that fat Ange is probably a better manager than Gio, and that hurts a lot.
