  1. Denis Law Huddersfield Town Bobby Hope WBA Willie Wallace Hearts
  2. Him and wee Wullie. Pity 90% of the spalpeens had left with twenty minutes still to go. What entertainment they missed! But that's why Baxter could be infuriating. We could have had seven that night and more.
  3. Baxter - genius. I know Davie Cooper was good and Laudrup even better but only Gascoigne comes remotely near to Baxter. He couldn't half infuriate you at times.
  4. Amalgamation is essential but it still leaves the regional promotion problem. eg Promoted as regional champs: Heart of Moray (North) and Lanark Utd (South) Play-off winners: Inverness County (North) SPL bottom three (from the top) Falkirk Albion, KillieAyr and Celtic-Thistle (all south) Who gets booted up to the Arctic? Geography says Falkirk Albion but is that fair? It could get badly mixed up after a few years. Probably a price worth paying to get rid of the current stupid setup.
  5. A midfield three of Greig, McMillan, Baxter.
  6. Prso, Amo, Numan, Gattuso and Novo. If you call South Africans foreigners, Johnnie Hubbard.
  7. Elgin City are the most northerly (but not the most Highland) club in the Leagues and what you say about them travelling to Annan and Berwick and vice versa is spot on. It makes no sense. I'm sure the English have an answer to the north/south regional league problem. I just wonder what it is.
  8. You've got this right Mr Goat. I'd only disagree with the winter break. Continuity is important. Playing a match against the same club for times a season is tedious. I agree with the north/south divide but lookking to the future problems coud arise. For example the automatically promoted clubs are Elgin City (north) and Airdrie (south) The play-off winners are Peterhead (north) The relegated sides are Celtic, Killie and Motherwell (all south) Which two of these go into the north leaugue? How do they fix this problem in England where the lower leagues are north and south?
  9. Why yes, I remember them well. The Iron Curtain all present and correct. Note the shirts. No embellishment. Note the properly coloured socks. That's what a Rangers team should look like.
  10. Football's a winter game. Never seen a good match on a hot day. Seen some belters in glaur and muck. But whether it's winter or summer, no breaks. Interrupts the momentum of the season. Mid season breaks, twenty minute half times. Why bother with the game at all?
  11. These fascists were giving laldy to the Billy Boys at the Antigua Test Match. Don't suppose they were using our words but whatever the lyric it would have been offensive by association to Scottish listeners with Irish ancestry. I found it a bit offensive myself. The tune was sung too quickly and at too high a pitch. Did I hear 'Well fans giving the Famine a wee go on Sunday. Sounded like it on radio.
  12. "Tbh Half Times are hardly every 15mins as they are probably closer to 17-18 minuted by the team the pitch is clear." So we're looking at half an hour? Most folk will go off to the pub and not come back.
  13. Not flaming likely. Back to ten minutes, I say.
