The obvious ones who have been in the first team squad recently. It is difficult to judge with them playing in what are in the main friendlies. Most will need to move out on loan to progress, but that has to be the right move too, no point sitting on the bench somewhere else.

I wouldn't say so. In the previous two years the numbers retained/ given contracts from 16's into 17's has been poor around half a dozen each year. This year is seen as a better group and 14 have moved from 16's to 17's, and two have been recruited from Linfield. So they are perceived as a stronger group then the previous two years. This U17 group are the basis of this year's U18 squad. Rangers have chosen not to use six U18's who have been playing in the series of B Team friendlies. Hibs lineup was at the older end mainly U18, Hamilton are kinda similar. Hearts, Celtic and Dundee United regularly field 2008's (U16's), Hearts & Celtic pushing older U18's into the Lowland League teams. The others would have a similar age profile to Rangers, with maybe one or two more U18's
