  1. Now updated the post, for the record the OG was scored by Jack Baird, who coincidently was at Rangers.
  2. The main reason I started the youth blog all those years ago was the almost non existent coverage on the official site. For sometime the official site have regularly used an edited version of my match reports. Where as I don't really mind anybody using anything I post on the blog, It would be common courtesy to let me know their intentions. Especially when not so long ago I received a threatening e-mail from the official club photographer wrongly accusing me of using one of his copyrighted photographs. Taking in last night's Development League game under the heavy rain and floodlights the numbers on the St.Mirren strips were pretty difficult to make out. So when a Saints defender turned the ball into his own net I wasn't quite sure who had scored the OG. So just to see what would happen I credited the goal not to a Saints defender but to a regular follower of Rangers youths. https://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2015/03/30/development-league-win-in-paisley/ As you can see the "goalscorer" is not even listed in the St.Mirren squad. So I had a wee chuckle when I read the official match report today. http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/galleries/item/8942-gallery-under-20s-defeat-saints Well at least he now has documentary evidence from the official website that he "scored a goal for Rangers". I have now clarified who actually scored that goal and will update the post later this week.

  5. Comments from the players and parents since the change have been pretty positive. The change in approach has been apparent in the recent 17's games I've watched. May take a while to turn it around as Sinky's mantra has been around the place for so long. Its a bit ironic that now Sinclair has gone a few at the younger age groups have moved to the darkside.

  7. Both Gallagher and Hardie had quiet games. Kilmarnock looked most likely to score up until the red card, after which neither side created any real chances. Ryan Sinnamon played first half right midfield, moved to right-back after the half-time substituion.
  8. That is my understanding of what happened with Telfer. Obviously the club won't admit this and will stick to the line "he turned down the three contact offers we made". All of which came after he spoke to and received an offer from Dundee United.
  9. Andy Kirk has been there a while, his son McKenzie plays for one of the younger teams. Malky Thomson was back briefly last season, he is a good coach, the players and parents like him. I haven't seen Gardner Spiers so far. Don't think it would have much to do with the old board, probably more to do with the autonomy that Craig Mulholland was allowed and the changes are down to him

  14. I've been saying for a while Tom and Ryan Sinnamon are the two I would rate highest from the youth players. Probably not an out and out wide player, but since McDowall has been in charge we have had absolutely zero width.

  22. Jack has taken the step up to 17's in his stride playing in midfield, played the whole game on Sunday. Looks likely to play at 17's on a regular basis. A bit early to say having only watched three games this week which are the only games I've seen since he left. 14's have always been a good footballing side and were excellent on Wednesday. 17's were maybe a bit fortunate on Sunday, Hamilton being the better side in the first half, but they didn't resort to thumps up the park and three goals were well crafted. 13's were impressive we a special mention to the three u12's. The big plus was Malky Thomson on the sidelines, always talking and encourging them to pass and move. The feed back I am hearing from parents is pretty positive and they have seen a marked improvement. The only way you will fins out is by playing them. For sometime I have said the two in my opinion were the pick was Ryan Sinnamon and Tom Walsh. With Tom having a few injury problems and Ryan stalling on extending his contract it hasn't happened. Andy Murdoch did okay last week and will now get more game time, a few others I'm sure wouldn't let us down.
  23. Under 20's play Hibs at Dumbarton on Monday at 6pm. There is an Under 16 friendly against Queen's Park on Tuesday, Murray Park KO 7PM.
  24. No chance with either goal, never had a serious save to make other than that.
