  1. What we have learned in the States about replay technology is that it can shift the capacity for error from the idiot on the field to the idiot in the suit in the replay booth. It is not a cure-all. You can go from "who's the bastard in the black" to "who's the bastard in the booth". As long as you have the replay interpreted by human beings you will always have mistakes regardless of the technology you use.
  2. I'm agreeing with you. That was the point of my last paragraph. But to say we'd get pumped in higher leagues is probably right, yet being in a higher league might have kept some of those who left. So it's not really an accurate comparison. Clearly, though, there are motivation issues as well as tactical issues. Those are down to the manager to solve and if he can't, then we should look for someone else. Great as Ally was was a player, this is a 'what have you done for me lately' business. And the answer to that question now has to be "well, I lost to Annan Athletic at Ibrox." That's nothing to be proud of and I'm sure you agree.
  3. Any better league and some of the players who deserted the club and its fans in their hour of need might stll be here, including my compatriots from the States. Just pointing that out. It's understandable, though infuriating, that professional athletes would have trouble playing today. From their point of view, what do they have to play for? If the league reorganization goes through, they'll still be in the lowest tier playing the same teams as last year. There's still that ridiculous transfer embargo in place for another window. They've been called the worst club ever to wear the shirt and today proved the criticism is not far wrong. They're managed by a man who sometimes makes bewildering tactical decisions and that doesn't help. All that said, I am not excusing the players, because there is still one thing to play for that matters more than everything else, and despite everything that has gone on it should still be more than enough: the shirt. If you can't get motivated for the shirt you wear each week then you're in the wrong business.
  4. Let's see. SFA brings charge regarding Green's and Super's reply to SFA's bigotry, to be heard by SFA panel with decision and any punishment to be rendered by SFA. That should go well. Not.
  5. As an administrator, Regan's job is to maintain scrupulous neutrality in everything he does related to his official function. That is the case with every administrator in every league on the planet. This interview alone should cost him his job. For an administrator to publicly call out and attack any club, by name or otherwise, should be an offense worthy of the sack. If you must defend the indefensible, do so in such a manner that is worthy of the dignity of the position you hold. Regan himself has no such dignity, but the position does. At least in theory.
  6. big·ot·ry    [big-uh-tree] noun, plural big·ot·ries. 1.stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own. 2. the actions, beliefs, prejudices, etc., of a bigot. There's your answer, SFA. Read it and eat it.
  7. When we care to hear Kayal's opinion, we'll tell him what is.
  8. Bye. Don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya.
  9. I'm as American as they come and am a Bear to my fingertips. My nation's captain speaks the truth.
  10. Whyte: I’ll have a say in who buys Gers "Say, look who bought Gers." That's all he gets.
  11. As a photographer, I'd have passed out from delight had I taken that picture. As a Rangers supporter, it's fecking marvelous.
  12. Frankly, I don't know why anyone is surprised. American media does this all the time, both in and out of sport -- they protect those they want to protect and they smear those with whom they don't agree, especially in politics. Woe to those whose world view doesn't match that of our electronic overlords.
  13. The issue is that the other club has a swoosh on its shirt. I've mentioned this before. RFC needs to have Nike manufacture the shirts if they want access to the American market. I've been looking for years for an RFC shirt in ANY sporting goods shop over here and I still wind up ordering mine direct from the UK.
