I generally agree with the pressure argument but I'd disagree on low expectations being the reason they turn up in Europe.
For me, most of us inside and outside the stadium expect and demand to win at home in Europe - almost always, regardless of budgets. Away from home it might be slightly different, but I think there's just as much expectation on a European night at Ibrox as there is domestically.

The old adage is that successful teams must have a good spine; keeper, central defender, central midfielder, central striker. We certainly do not have that, no dominant striker, we have no midfield at all, central defence  is all over the place. No wonder we have little belief.

Aye, that's fair. I'm just not sure across 90 minutes how much that matters. I guess it is the anxiety of how they'll be remembered/perceived for bottling the league games, as opposed to choking against Benfica. The latter is something that will be sooner forgotten.
As I said, and as I've been posting elsewhere, I agree on the fear/poor mentality point. Just think it's not true to suggest there isn't high expectation in Europe.

He didn't come out and say he's lying either. Just basically to keep your powder dry in the media, which is what he is doing. Manager handling this very professionally.

Clement can't come out and say aye he's right.
Gerrard threw players under the bus all the time, it never works.

We are in his second season now.
For the most part he's been injured. Last season and most of the first half of this season when he actually played he was very poor.
He had a good run of form and is now injured again.
We cannot keep carrying players like this in the squad.

It might look like half arsing it but it's not. It's because they freeze. They can't make the correct decisions and they can't make them quickly. So they end up with this lethargic passing from side to side that looks half arsed. Usually the passes are a yard or two behind the receiver or bobbling around so that they have to check their movement to receive the ball. Makes it easy to stay in shape and shuffle around for the opponent.

I think midfield is a big issue for us and has been for a while. Lundstram needs to leave.

I just find it baffling that we are on for a treble, were favourites to win the league, and....the belief just dies with the finish line in site.
I cannot understand how enough people in the team - people who have had the discipline and drive to make it in professional sport - can collectively lose that drive. I cannot comprehend that.
What we've witnessed isn't even what I'd call "bottling it". It's something deeper and more rotten.

Based on the fact Sima should play on the left and he’s our best option on the right.

    Butland
    Tav Goldson Souttar Yilmaz
    Lundstram Sterling
    McCausland Diomande Sima
    Dessers
Unfortunately nobody to replace Lundstram or Tav and Balogun has hardly played in ages!

In days gone by you’d print it out and nail it to the wall in the dressing room but Tav would probably agree with it.
