  1. Assume with around ten players leaving in the summer (end of contract/loan deals and players clearly not in his plans) that he'll then have a bit of a budget simply based on saved wages and hopefully a few transfer fees - especially if they can get something decent back for Dessers and Lammers?

So much dead wood kicking about that ten out and maybe three or four quality players in and I think we would have a pretty strong squad

It’s getting to the end of the season so there’s always sales

True - but the prices seem more like a fire sale, rather than mid to end of season discounting.

Scotland Home and Away are down to £50 because they're obviously bringing out new kits for the Euro's but we can get all three (or four or five) kits for around £20 which is really low

Anyway, have been away and was just wondering if we were shifting to someone else - not a fan of the Castore stuff

  3. Have been overseas so might have missed the news - looking at the prices - is this Castore ditching kit and we are moving to a new supplier next season??

Apologies if this is something that's been previously discussed or is well known

Clement referenced him for some reason in his presser yesterday iirc.

Actually thought that was really clever

All the attention could have been on Brown and he just destroyed the media narrative with a yup, we get it, he hates our club. Next question.

Team talk is also done. Fans were behind you on Tuesday night, they hate this prick and he hates us, get this done, don't take your foot of their throat

  5. An intelligent player without the skill or physical attributes to make that a valuable asset

You can see he clearly knows what to do, but just doesn't have the tools in the toolbox

Looked gutted at being subbed which is nice to see, but will be away in the summer and we will see this team take another leap forward if Big Phil gets the money to spend on a proper forward line

  6. Dan Campbell buying into his own hype going for it on fourth down when a field goal would have left the 49ers needing three scores - mind numbingly bad coaching and absolutely turned the game on its head. Such a meatball play and just not understanding the situation both in terms of the game and what it would have done to the 49ers psychologically - instead he literally gave them the spark and belief in one single dumb play and changed the entire momentum of the game. Was Michael Bealeesque in it's utter stupidity.

At least it makes it a better Super Bowl - definitely closer and should be a fun watch.

Lions window for me just closed - Bears and GB are both getting stronger and the Lions will struggle to come back from this especially likely losing Ben Johnson to the Commanders

  7. I honestly think he's terrible and nowhere near good enough but...

Took his goal really well - really intelligent finish

Cut back a few balls that should have been finished - again, really smart play

Made a cracking run that left him one to one with the keeper and was unlucky not to get a second.

If he keeps playing like this we should have more than enough for a Youtube highlight video to send to Utrecht to seal a 10 million Euro transfer in the summer

    This is an absolute disaster.

But. If he misses the rest of the season and fades into the background it might increase our chances of him signing here permanently?

Think this is spot on (on both points). Might be a wee slight silver lining in what is obviously a major blow for us and the player.

Not too many teams going to bid large amounts on a player with a previous injury history, just coming back from a long term injury.

Contracted to Brighton to June 2025, going into the last year of that deal, it might suit Brighton to cut their losses and agree a club friendly deal?  Player really happy here. Club seems to be getting the most from him.

Guess it also depends on the longer term assessment??

    Still all a bit shite

  9.

Delayed going on holiday by a couple of days to get to this, so not overly happy but I guess there are positives

Rest before the old firm, no injuries picked up plus will be a good game if we are bedding in new players brought in during the window

There's three midweeks free coming up after the break, 31st Jan, 14th and 21st Feb, so will likely get replayed on one of these dates - can't see much flex after that because of Europe, International break, rearranged Hibs game and we already have Aberdeen at home midweek in February

    We’re not a charity.

He is physically unable to fulfil the duties we pay him for.

Our patience and understanding has been more than most employers.

Time for a serious heart to heart - he can have no further part in our future.

Two strikers (one purchase, one loan) needed in January imo.

No ones suggesting we're a charity - but you sign players you accept the risk - and I assume you have them insured so to some extent his wages might be covered. No idea.

Has he been a success in terms of injuries, obviously not, but to suggest, as people on here have, that he's 'stealing a wage'. As if he's manipulating the situation. I think that's total bs.

He's clearly leaving at the end of the season - wish him well, though doubt he has much longer as a pro and wouldn't be surprised to see him retire at the end of the season

Getting to that time of in the hunt, playoff bound and seeding for home advantage 4 weeks to go.

Unless you're a Bears fan, in which case it's getting to that time you check 'Talkathon' every Monday morning!! :headwall:

  12. You can't expect to see the impact Davis and Rae have until after the international break at the very  earliest

Anyone equating tonight's result with any real input they could have had has since Monday is living on a different planet. Appointed Monday, we assume in a rush, not even sure they were even in Glasgow to take charge that day, travel to Cyprus is a full day, game on the Thursday.

For that reason I don't think it was a major surprise he stuck with a team that was not dissimilar to Beale's, apart from the fact everyone and their dug knows Dessers is absolute shite (but I'm assuming Roofe isn't fully match fit). I assume he was hoping for a new Manager kick, but I think worryingly it shows that as much as Beake wasn't good, it also shows that the talent level is as bad as most of us thought.

You could maybe argue, in hindsight, that five at the back and go for a draw would have been a better option - but he clearly wanted to try to go for the win.

I like Davis, honest pro and all that, but it'll take time to make the transition from one of the lads to a Manager who can bench the captain or Goldson or give the team a bollocking - that was always the big concern  having a squad player transition to Manager when a team is in crisis.

Got to hope that the Board see the need to get someone in quickly, someone who can make changes with limited options, and someone who can change the culture in the dressing room.

Going to be a long season!!!

Ha, I posted this almost word for word - great minds and all that.

Sorry, didn't see it. This thread is the faster that anyone I saw on the pitch today!!

It's true though, he'll blame injuries but it was his team out there today, and bar Cantwell, and at a big push Danilo/Roofe, there's not really anyone missing that I think would make a major difference under his coaching

  14. I'm not saying Beale is delusional, but complaining about league schedules causing the injury to Yilmaz, a guy he's played maybe three times this year, is truly mental.

As for Roofe, the guy is decent but he gets injured thinking about football

Funny thing is, I think the schedule is probably helping the team play better - be interesting to see if it is momentum, and how the international break affects that??

    Wow unreal stuff that

The Bears have been brutal - off season everyone in the Chicago media thought they had significantly upgraded, people talking about being a dark horse for the play-offs, but somehow they've got worse - and even heard this week some pundits in the city expecting the Broncos to batter them on Sunday!!

Sunday's have truly become hard work with watching Beale-ball at Ibrox in the afternoon and then the Bears absolutely suck at night on the TV - I'd say it couldn't get worse but we ll know that might not be true!!!
