  1. Absolute world of difference from Beale's pressers - very little management speak and cliches. Clearly sees that there's a lot more work to be done and is building it around work ethic and structure - thought the defence looked far more disciplined today and the midfield were clearly on the front foot and told to move the ball forward quickly and maintain the high press. Great work for week one - get the feeling things are going to be interesting going forward
  2. You can't expect to see the impact Davis and Rae have until after the international break at the very earliest Anyone equating tonight's result with any real input they could have had has since Monday is living on a different planet. Appointed Monday, we assume in a rush, not even sure they were even in Glasgow to take charge that day, travel to Cyprus is a full day, game on the Thursday. For that reason I don't think it was a major surprise he stuck with a team that was not dissimilar to Beale's, apart from the fact everyone and their dug knows Dessers is absolute shite (but I'm assuming Roofe isn't fully match fit). I assume he was hoping for a new Manager kick, but I think worryingly it shows that as much as Beake wasn't good, it also shows that the talent level is as bad as most of us thought. You could maybe argue, in hindsight, that five at the back and go for a draw would have been a better option - but he clearly wanted to try to go for the win. I like Davis, honest pro and all that, but it'll take time to make the transition from one of the lads to a Manager who can bench the captain or Goldson or give the team a bollocking - that was always the big concern having a squad player transition to Manager when a team is in crisis. Got to hope that the Board see the need to get someone in quickly, someone who can make changes with limited options, and someone who can change the culture in the dressing room. Going to be a long season!!!
  3. What does my head in is he just plays the same system expecting different results Today was really a carbon copy of the Motherwell game - we just got lucky last week with a deflected gaol and Motherwell missed chances that Aberdeen took.
  4. Sorry, didn't see it. This thread is the faster that anyone I saw on the pitch today!! It's true though, he'll blame injuries but it was his team out there today, and bar Cantwell, and at a big push Danilo/Roofe, there's not really anyone missing that I think would make a major difference under his coaching
  5. He's talking about injuries being the issue Keeper - First Choice Defence - All First Choice Midfield - He bought Ciuentes to play, jack, Lundstrum, both first team players. Forwards - Dessers is his man, Lammers is his man and Sima is his man. We're not suffering from injuries, we have a full squad, all his signings bar Butland have been a disaster. He pursued these guys, fought for them and they are, like his tactics, all shite!!!
  6. I'm not saying Beale is delusional, but complaining about league schedules causing the injury to Yilmaz, a guy he's played maybe three times this year, is truly mental. As for Roofe, the guy is decent but he gets injured thinking about football Funny thing is, I think the schedule is probably helping the team play better - be interesting to see if it is momentum, and how the international break affects that??
  7. The Bears have been brutal - off season everyone in the Chicago media thought they had significantly upgraded, people talking about being a dark horse for the play-offs, but somehow they've got worse - and even heard this week some pundits in the city expecting the Broncos to batter them on Sunday!! Sunday's have truly become hard work with watching Beale-ball at Ibrox in the afternoon and then the Bears absolutely suck at night on the TV - I'd say it couldn't get worse but we ll know that might not be true!!!
  8. Thoughts should be with the Bears fans - Vegas has Denver as 2.5 point FAVOURITES going into next weeks game against the Bears AT Soldier Field!! I truly f'ing despair!
  9. Watching the friendlies, he seems to want to play two up top with a diamond behind - so assuming he feels confident with putting the two new forwards in from the start, it'll be Dessers and Danillo leading the line, Lammers sitting behind. Dowell on the left and Cantwell on the right, with Raskin the holding midfielder. Back four - I assume Borna is currently seen as the starter over Ridvan. Tav obv. Two healthiest centre half's and Butland. Have a feeling it's going to take a few weeks for the team to settle - not feeling overly confident yet
  10. We're away in Europe on the Wednesday, so can't be Friday (also don't think they are planning a Friday game this round - but who knows??). Assuming Saturday for us as we won't know if we have a European game the following Tuesday or Wednesday. Would also assume as they don't have a game their game against Killie will be the TV game on the Sunday Good game to have between Euro fixtures!
  11. Got to assume we will get the Saturday - travelling back from Genk or Servette on the Wednesday, but might also have a qualifier that could be the Tuesday (or Wednesday) and could be away? So should be nailed on for the 19th August? I'm assuming Euro dates will be taken into consideration
  12. Two forwards playing up top - got to assume it will be Dressers and Danilo Lammers sitting behind the strikers Three across midfield with Raskin in the centre, probably Dowell (L) and Cantwell (R) either side. Standard back four He seemed to be shouting at the players to squeeze the centre of the park - so a kind of diamond shape in the middle? It definitely lacks width, unless the fullbacks push forward - and when they did tonight, thought Olympiacos exploited the space behind. Probably be fine against SPFL fodder but not sure it would hold up against better opposition That's my guess anyway, based on the last two games
  13. I'd say type anything into twitter and you won't find many positive comments on anything I can only really go on what I hear from the guys I go to games with - and they mostly support other clubs - and they all seem to think he adds a lot to the team. I'm pretty sure the people who would moan about Jack, would also moan if we didn't provide any players to the national set up, and would no doubt complain if we provided more. Personally I'd like to see us have more Scottish players at the club and more contributing to the national team at all levels - but I appreciate that might well be a minority position on here?
  14. Was at the game, didn't hear anyone booing him. The article seems to be based on a few comments made on social media - could imagine a few pished up sheep still grumbling but there was definitely no audible booing in the ground. Would say, amongst fans of other teams, he's now a very popular choice - seen as one of the most consistent performers and works well in Clarke's system
  15. Does this every game he scores, this one to the home end at Fir Park - never a comment made
  16. Absolutely love Ben Davies - you just don't notice him in a game. Positioning is fantastic, passing out of defence is great and he just strolls through the match without creating any drama at all
  17. Taken from twitter: It's a five team league to start. Play each other once. Rangers have played three games so far and have two wins and a draw. They have played three and have three draws. The top four (of the five teams) go through to the semis then the final is in April/May.
  18. Baffling Sakala must wonder what he needs to do to get a run in the team, Wright is an impactful sub, Roofe a poacher and yet none of them used when players are blowing out their arses. But I'd also say, players who are happy to throw themselves into tackles against Dortmund but shy out on a cold night in Perth, really need to take a look at themselves too
  19. To be honest, I'm not bothered, and probably shouldn't have replied - he's someone that thinks a random person he's never met, on a messageboard, doesn't know a football fan from another country If I was going to make something up, I would hope my ambitions would be bigger!! But that maybe says more about him than me?
  20. Happy to ask him any questions you want - he's one of two Serbs I work with closely Always find wee boys like you on here hilarious - maybe you've never stepped out of the Gallowgate, but some of us work outside of Scotland
  21. Chatting to a mate in Belgrade who is part of one of their fan groups Reckons the chat is they are happy enough with the draw, but wary after the Dortmund result, said they were mostly all hoping for Braga. Reckons they are playing poorly in their domestic league, but raise their game for Europe. The team is still settling with a few new players arriving in the winter, said names to watch Katai, Stolica, Ben and Pavkov - Stolica was a recent signing from Bayern. Playmaker is Mirko Ivanić. Said he thought they were a weaker team than last season.
  22. Sorry, dumb question, but is the draw seeded - we get one of these teams - or is it everyone into a random draw?
  23. I'm definitely a critic, but agree, he played really well tonight and held his position throughout - would also agree with MOM for Jack, thought he was superb! All of a sudden £45 for next week seems a bargain!!
  24. Their offensive line is horrible and gave Burrow no real protection (and I'm a Bears fan saying that). If they can address that weakness through the draft and free agency then they can be successful with Joe Burrow - though the AFC is looking very strong, more so if Rodgers was to go to Denver
  25. Nope - thought it was drivel But I think it appealed to the boomer generation in the States - especially middle aged white dudes who still say Hip Hop is their favourite type of music, while they were actually listening to Garth Brookes and Dire Straits for most of their teenage years
