This is my 300th post and is purely for the 100 odd tims watching
For the past 3 years while watching the last game of the season Ive been able to make myself a sandwhich halfway during the first half coz the leagues been done and dusted whilst your hoping for a miracle

Wasn't really saying he would be 'useful' for them, just giving an indication of the standard of player that wouldn't be out of their depth if they had to slot into their respective position. It's one of those hypothetical questions which is difficult to answer and depends how it is interpreted.

Vidic is horrifically overrated.
Agree. A few years ago he looked the part but I think he's now living off that reputation without reaching that same high standard.

I don't think any of them would be guaranteed starters but Evra, Vidic, Carrick, Nani, Rooney are good enough to be used squad members.
Really? Guys like Keita and Thiago can't get into the first 11 but you think Carrick would be a useful squad player?

I don't get the hatred of City. It's just jealousy.
I've a soft spot for City since my missus is a Manc and a City fan and I live down here. They are a good, honest club and tbf their owners seem more interested than the likes of Abramovich.
They are building footabll academies as well as spending millions on the local area facilities. How can this be a bad thing?
The likes of Utd have spend millions upon millions in the past on players but because they have brought through the odd one of their own people forget this. Utd are millions in debt despite only becoming as big as they are because they happened to be on top of the pile at the time when the Sky money in the EPL took off. Nothing more than good fortune. SO whats the difference?

Agree with all apart from athleticism.
I think the other attributes can go a long way to covering a lack of athleticism (within reason obviously).
You often see holding players able to play well into their 30's, because a good holding player doesn't need to run about wild, or dive into tackles, etc. You can be small and slow, but still a good holding mid.
Although you tend to get two distinct types of holding players. As example former Rangers player Thomson and Hemdani being the two flavours of the same position.
Badger is spot on. It's all about reading the game. You don't need to be quick because you can anticipate where the ball is going and can get there before the fastest guy on the pitch.
Players who are good at this ... the Makelele's, Busquets' and Bob Malcolms of this world ... are vastly underrated.

And if I am to be convinced that someone has sources with solid info, then I would need info to be given. I'm far too critical (I'm a cynical bastard) of what I read online to be convinced by the argument "He has sources. He just can't print what he knows because he might be sued". Far too much of that online
And you can't be sued for telling the truth.

Adoniram we now have someone who defends our club and fans, and when you think he is the only one. But sad to say some of our own fans would rather have a go at him, instead of giving the man credit. Some of our support are happy to sit back and let the media and press, piss all over our club and fans.
I'm not knocking him at all Minstral. In fact I've really enjoyed some of his other blogs and sometimes he is bang on the money. What I don't like is this kind of speculation blog. He's a journalist and therefore should present us with hard facts rather than merely hinting at what could be going on.

Perhaps, but rather than merely hinting at what mightbe going on, Leggo could do a bit of investigation then come out and tell us exactly what is going on.

Speculation is the most irrating thing in the world. I don't pay attention to Leggo, not because he is shit or anything like that. I just can't stand blogging like that.

I agree. I don't like this kind of speculation however Regan, by refusing to answer simple questions, is only adding fuel to the fire.
